  1. They did end up processing my subject test scores, though in my case the thing that held up my app for a few days was the "GPA Summary" (word doc with list of relevant courses taken sophomore year onward with grades included, emailed to the grad school) which wasn't listed as a requirement anywhere in the application or in the Clinical PhD "How to Apply" page! Very strange. The good news from UMB is that your application will be reviewed without subject test scores, per the site. If you were to be admitted without having taken it yet, you would have to take it later. So the delay in processing shouldn't stop the committee from reviewing your application at all
  2. This happened to me with UMass Boston, but they told me it can take extra time to attach them to your application so if it read "not received" it may just be processing. Depends on your program though. I think if they know it's not your fault and they know the scores are on the way it'll be okay—especially if GRE subject scores are recommended but not required for admission.
  3. That sounds like the worst! PI's will probably (hopefully) leave a message if they do call
  4. School: Miami University (Ohio) Type: PhD Date of invite: 12/19/19 Type of invite: Phone call from POI Interview date(s): In-person interview February 3rd or February 7th DM me if you'd like more info
  5. Per this CUDCP calendar, it looks like only interview day listed for Yale is Monday February 3rd
  6. I've wondered this too! My best guess would be to keep doing "Dr. Lastname" until the interview, and if they tell you in person to go by their first name there, then start using their first name. I think it's worse to come off as presumptuous than a bit formal.
  7. I got that email too! I wonder what it was about, I couldn't find anything either. Maybe that meant under review?
  8. A few schools high on my list should be contacting for interviews this week—I've heard from one which is so exciting (!!!!), though I'm still checking my email constantly. Once off work it should be easier to unplug? Hopefully? hoping Frank Ocean washes away the stress
  9. Thats amazing! The Bûche de Noël sounds so delicious. I’m also baking for a work holiday party tomorrow (cranberry upside-down tart) and it feels so nice to focus on making something beautiful Please tell us how it turns out!!
  10. School: University of Toledo Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date of invite: December 16th Type of invite: Email from grad admissions office, DCT and PI cc'd Interview date(s): In-person interview (Feb 7th or 10th) DM me for more info
  11. Looking for advice: If offered the option between two interview dates, and either would work well, would you recommend choosing the first or second date? I'm unsure whether it's best to aim for primacy or recency, haha.
  12. @bri j. No way! I was a psych and art double major in undergrad as well ?
  13. Oh same, it's really killing me. And you know we'll probably get these emails during the holidays when we least expect them, haha. It's even worse because my long-term partner is applying to PhDs in a different field (mathematics) right now–it's his 3rd app cycle and my 2nd, and we've gone through all of them while together. We've dealt with it well, but it's awful to deal with this amount of uncertainty every year over and over. It'll be nice to actually know where we'll be for the next few years. And I'm so excited to move forward it's hard to keep waiting! I've been able to channel all of my post-app free time and energy into holiday decorating, which has been really therapeutic actually ?
  14. That's a lot for one person to process at one time. Job applications on their own can feel like a full time job, haha. But you're almost there! 6 months will be here before you know it.
  15. Every time I see an email in my inbox I get so excited thinking it might be an application update..it's going to be a long couple of months, my dudes. Working as an RA has been enriching, worthwhile, and a great growth process, but I am SO READY to get back to school. Good luck everyone!!
  16. This is good advice. Working on the GRE can be easier when you're in a school/study mindset. I'm in a research-intensive post-bacc position right now and am so glad I took the GRE while in undergrad—my coworker did not and they had a hard time getting back into the swing of studying after being out of school for a bit. Depending on what your next semester looks like, it might be a good idea to focus on studying for the GRE then, or the summer after graduating. IMO it's best not to let more than a year go by post-grad without studying/taking it, if you can.
  17. You would think they'd want this process to be intuitive, haha. I did receive a bcc list email a few days ago from the assistant director of the program asking us not to email if it appears our applications are complete, since the applications take "a long time to process." She did directly say that "if we are looking for anything in your folder, someone from the Clinical Program will contact you" so hopefully that's the case! ?
  18. Anyone have a problem with UMass Boston (PhD) not marking the Psychology Subject test as complete/received? I sent the subject test, along with the general test, to the school's code over a month ago. They have my general scores marked as received, but not the subject test scores. I know these sent, so am not sure what to do. Also, does anyone know what's up with the "GPA Summary" portion of the applicant status portal for UMass Boston? Do they need to verify our self-reported GPA with transcripts? This portion of my application is also marked as "not received" although they have my transcript and I completed all the GPA info within the application. They sent me a concerning email this evening about not having all of my materials, though I can't see why they wouldn't have either of these.
