  1. Were you waitlisted after interviewing? I was bummed that I never got an interview. I imagine you're high on their waitlist if you've heard already! I think that this is the first year that have held interviews.
  2. Hi! I applied to Loyola too! Their application due date was pushed back from 2/1 to 2/15. When I submitted my app, they said they would give us their decision no later than March 31.
  3. I'm doing an online course from ENMU now. I like the course so far. ENMU is nice because tuition rates are the same from in and out of state students.
  4. I applied to Teacher's College and haven't heard anything yet. I don't think they hold interviews. I'm expecting to hear in march.
  5. I applied to UCONN and I haven't heard anything either. I don't believe that they have an interview.
  6. Hi! I'm taking speech and hearing science from ENMU in the spring. I haven't gotten any emails either. However, I just logged onto blackboard and my class and syllabus was uploaded. I would suggest checking there!
  7. I think you should definitely should still apply, especially if you are really passionate about becoming a speech pathologist!! Most schools want you to have a 300 combined and you are literally only one point below so that is not bad at all. I too am feeling a little discouraged because I didn't meet the minimum writing score, but have decided to choose to be positive while finishing my applications so that I can put my best foot forward. When searching for school that I wanted to apply to, if the school listed a required minimum score (opposed to an average score), I contacted the department, told them my situation, and asked if if my application would still be taken into account if I did not meet the minimum. One school said that I would undermine my acceptance into the program and in another said that they would still look at my application. It sounds like you have put so much work into the GRE with taking it 3 times. Don't give up now just because it is one point below! The GRE is just one part of the application and it sounds like you are a really well rounded applicant.
  8. Hi! I am a psychology major and have had to take online slp pre reqs so that I can apply for slp fall 2020 master programs. You may already know this, but if you go to each of the schools' websites, you can see exactly which classes are required as pre reqs. I'm not familiar with the requirements for California schools because I'm on the East Coast, but the majority of the schools I am looking at have a lot of overlap between the classes they require. Some common ones are anatomy and physiology, phonetics, intro to audiology, speech and hearing science, & language development. How I went about it, was I found schools that require 6 or less pre reqs that have similar requirements, give or take 1 or 2 classes. I took 2 pre reqs this past summer, and am signed up to take 2 more this spring. When I hear back from schools in March, I will know which classes I need to take this summer based on the school I decide to go to. Some schools even let you take a few pre reqs during your first semester of grad school. I hope this was helpful/made sense. Let me know if you have more questions.
  9. Thank you for your input! I'm happy with my verbal and quant scores, but nervous about my writing score because some schools have a 4.0 minimum score.
  10. Thank you so much for your feedback. I wish you the best with your application process!
  11. On my GRE, I got average, not amazing, verbal (155) and quant (155) scores. I was shocked when I got my writing score back and it was a 3.5. I don't believe I have time to retake it since my grad apps are due January 15. I spent so long studying and paid so much money for prep programs/taking the test and I want to just move forward with my life. I'm really sad because I know this will make my application less competitive and take away a lot of funding opportunities. How much do slp schools care about the writing score? Should I even apply to schools that have a minimum writing score of a 4.0? Can I redeem my embarrassing writing score with an awesome personal statement? I'm confident in my GPA (3.85) and my experience. Please help!!
