  1. Got pretty depressed with Comp Lit when I saw that UOregon closed their admissions for Fall 2021, I really liked one of their faculty members. I think the only comp lit program I applied for was Cornell.
  2. I am not going to overanalyze it either, but I did some quick digging, and did find this interesting... But it's probably nothing.
  3. @semiotic_messthanks a lot for your interview post, I'll surely come back to it if ever offered an interview, definitely eases the anxiety.
  4. I have so many "projected" acceptance dates due today, but so far all of them have been wrong... Arghghhg
  5. Perhaps it's the application anxiety getting to me but I could swear I read something about philosophy applications also being paused. On second read everything seems to be fine then.
  6. For everyone who has applied to UPitt, was wondering if you had the same confusions, I went to check on some UPitt stuff recently and was confused by an announcment on the graduate application page that I don't think I saw before: "Admissions to Dietrich School Graduate Programs in Academic Year 2020-21 In response to the disruptions caused by the global pandemic, the following Ph.D., MFA, and MA programs in the Humanities and Social Sciences in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh are pausing admissions for fall 2021. This one-year intermission will enable us to devote our resources and attention to our continuing students. Graduate training and research are central to the mission of the Dietrich School and its departments. While we do not pause admissions lightly, we believe that in these uncertain times our paramount responsibility is to optimally support our current students’ success and wellbeing as they prepare for impactful careers in a fast-changing world." First off, why does it say paused admissions for Fall 2021 and then says Academic Year of 2020-2021? If Fall 2021 admissions were paused wouldn't that be the year of 2021-2022? I have been in contact with Diana and she has responded normally so, unless this is a recent message, then this announcement is defunct?
  7. University of Minnesota Ah I see, interesting.
  8. Just got a weird email from a University asking me to submit a different form of my application, PDF version, and to send it back to them--I did it as soon as possible, maybe something went wrong with their online application system?
  9. Wow who put this sheet together? It's pretty amazing
  10. Dang, what program for UCSB? I see that your program is in Film and Media Studies, IDK if there's a sub for that on Gradecafe but they probably would like to know that decisions are being made from that school. Anyway, that sucks but hopefully you'll get in somewhere!
  11. Got the same type of email but for UOregon, pretty sure it means nothing, especially since I got the email quickly after I barely applied.
  12. Wow already? I'm assuming they have either rolling admissions or a very early application deadline?
  13. Didn't think I would get those weird dreams but in the past week I've had a dream about being interviewed for a graduate program, me getting an acceptance to MIT, and me literally just sitting down at a desk doing graduate school work... None yet. I'm really hoping to get into some niche of philosophy of science with many rhizomatic-like approaches to the media; I want to do both applied and theoretical work.
  14. Did anyone else get those emails from UOregon today? Stuff about application being received and a scholarship portal?
  15. Finished all my applications, did not anticipate having to write so damn much. Now it's the wait...
  16. Modern Thought and Literature deadline is today it seems like. Confused about where to check admissions decisisions for it, I'm assuming on the website they give you when you complete your application? The website shows you the LOR's you requested.
  17. I finished all of my applications and all of the LOR's are submitted as well. I just have to wait a little bit for final grades to be inputted at my university so that I can show a better GPA.
  18. So I found out like a month ago that I can graduate in the Summer instead of the Fall, so I'm actually back to applying for Fall 2021. So much writing, on-top of classes, but everything is pretty much done. Hoping everything is well for everyone else.
  19. Thank you for this great info!
  20. Thank you!
  21. Haha I actually go here already, the whole "don't do your post-graduate program in the same state you did your undergrad" is a bit offputting is all.
  22. I am wondering if you all already know some good philosophy of physics programs in the United States before I start my own grand research perhaps? Really appreciate it.
  23. I think I've decided on defering until next year... Hopefully things will be much more calm and resolved. To everyone applying this year I wish you very good luck and admire you for your determinance.
