  1. UOregon Comp Lit is not taking applications: https://complit.uoregon.edu/graduate-application/ "Please note: We are not currently accepting applications for Fall 2021. We will be announcing the next application date for our doctoral program by Decmeber 1, 2020."
  2. I'm guessing this foreign-language experience is more of an academic one? I'm native in both Spanish and English just because of the nature of how I grew up but have never taken any Spanish classes in undergrad.
  3. What are y'alls experience surrounding how much graduate admissions take into account foreign language in their applications? I remember reading foreign language experience as a somewhat deciding factor in graduate admissions from... Somewhere... So I was wondering what you all thought about it or how you're approaching it, perhaps I'm just mistaken.
  4. I know this is probably very soon but does anyone know when 2021 applications usually open (meaning you enter Fall 2022)?
  5. This summer turned out to be busier than expected--which I both like and dislike--but I'm currently interning as an economic analyst for a nearby SLC non-profit, I'm also a summer opinion writer for my uni's newspaper and I'm also doing summer preparation for a university class I'm leading next Fall.
  6. Very useful, thanks.
  7. I'm applying Fall 2021; I'm guessing I'll become familar around these parts from far on. I'm also quite nerved about what the current climate of the world means for future admissions, transcripts, applications, and so on, but I'm hoping that this will all die down into next Fall. I'm currently dwindling down schools, I want to get into comparative literature, preferably at UOregon. I made this google sheets document to dwindle down my schools, hopefully it is helpful to other people: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VgiNLiql0VeUVNFonw1o_DlPOGIRdLRr7Ao2C1mAoA4/edit?usp=sharing
  8. Off-topic, but does anybody know how detrimental pass/fails on your transcripts are to your application?

    Eugene, OR

Also looking for any insight into Eugene, I plan to visit their campus during early March; things to do, see, etc.
  10. My school, to my luck, just recently stopped doing the Comparative Lit program, that means no minor or majors in that program until further notice... I could always take Spanish lit class or Japanese lit classes which interest me but I really don't know if it would be the best, especially since it would be iffy if I would get an actual title (minor) in those studies.
  11. I'm in kind of a weird position... I went into undergrad wanting to major in economics, and will be since I'm so far into the program, but lots of things have changed (especially academically) and now I really want to apply to comp lit graduate schools. I could still fit a minor in by the time I graduate--is this really needed? Should I just take a bunch of literature/language courses? What do you guys think? The rest of my application is pretty strong, in my opinion.
