  1. Did you call them today to ask? Shouldn't be any harm in that!
  2. "Students awarded scholarship funds must maintain full-time status and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 for continuance of funding." Not gonna lie that's a little scary, especially since I read some of the professors at HNC grade quasi-arbitrarily-- on top of the program being in a foreign language. Hrm.
  3. I just got my scholarship e-mail too. Got 10k for HNC, 20k for the first year in DC, and 10k for the final semester in DC. Not bad at all... that's really exciting, I might be able to not have crushing debt for the rest of my career haha. Need to make some calculations but looks like I'll probably end up going to SAIS instead of Georgetown probably unless they give me a fellowship over there.
  4. I just checked the portal as well— got into HNC Certificate + MA, but no update yet for the separate application just for the DC MA. I did not receive an email, only the portal was updated. Also said financial aid info will be sent later if any is given. Edit: oh I see you already posted that section of the letter Anthony, haha. Best of luck to those still refreshing!
  5. “Too drunk to read the email” sounds like a good time lol
  6. I was the one who said that, based on an old thread here on this forum, but it wasn’t last year. I think it was 2013 or so if I recall, so might not be totally accurate anymore. Hopefully it’ll be earlier haha
  7. Correct, I received an e-mail informing me of acceptance from Robert Lyons on Monday at 5pm, and the e-mail notifying about portal being updated today. And nice, I applied to Fletcher too. For sure hope you get into MASIA though With any luck they do quasi-rolling or something.
  8. Ahhhh I hope it works out! ? Now I'm stressed for you heh-- be sure to report back once you find out. Where else did you apply?
  9. Obviously depends on what programs you're interested and in what industry and location you want to work afterward, but I'll just give a quick opinion and say whenever I meet someone who went to UChicago, I'm always like "dayum" lol. They're heckin' smart over there.
  10. Yes, e-mail a couple of days ago and this afternoon they updated the online portal. Maybe check there, and if there's no update, call them? Also check your spam folder, I had read one or two people say in past years' posts on this forum that the admissions decision e-mails ended up there (I think it was for SAIS, not Georgetown, but you never know). Fingers crossed for you!!
  11. Ugh we're all gonna be broke for the next 15 years lol
  12. Whoaaaaaa congrats!!! Holla holla get dolla
  13. I wonder if it's like law schools where if we receive aid elsewhere we can haggle a bit.
  14. Yay PupCakes!! Was this your top choice or still hoping for SAIS? Congrats! Considering Walsh and SAIS basically trade places for #1 every year, I think you're in a good spot! I'm in the same boat. I'm applying to a foreign language fellowship which should help... but I'd still have to borrow wayyyy too much money. I think I'll do it because working at a dream job with some financial stress is probably better than at a job I don't want with financial security... but ugh.
  15. Almost certainly will go there unless SAIS gives me lots of cashdollas. I'd rather be in DC two years than one year at HNC, since my end goal is to get a job in DC rather than China. If I wanted a fancy expat package at a multinational doing business in China, SAIS would probably be the better choice, but I'm probably aiming for government policy work. The main "drawback" of the MASIA program is that it's small, only around 35 students per year, so compared to SAIS the alumni network is pretty small. But that may also be a plus in some ways, so not too concerned about that.
  16. I just got my admission notification... I got in to MASIA!
  17. No, tbh I missed that option entirely. Just checked and it was pretty well hidden in the dual-degree program section. Looks like we can still go there on exchange in our 3rd semester if we do the DC MA though? Unless I'm misunderstanding what their website is saying. Although, probably not worth skipping DC in the second year since that's when most networking will probably happen.
  18. Mine were still visible on Tuesday, but now they're gone too. Fun times. I wonder if admissions officers are checking in on this thread and laughing at us.
  19. Hm, they probably just used the wrong word, or had a template already saved from a past year when they did conduct interviews. Or maybe they interview admissions officers to ask for their opinions? Might be plausible if they borrow officers from undergrad admissions or something like that instead of having a full time admissions team.
  20. Yeah March 6 sounds like it's far away for some reason... it's next Friday!
  21. I mean, taking the list of documents doesn't mean they no longer have access to them. It just means we don't have access to them, lol.
  22. I applied to both Certificate + MA and just the MA. If both of my applications are successful, I'll probably just choose to do the MA exclusively in DC. My interest in China is more academic/political, so I probably won't want to be working there in the future, and networking in DC is more valuable to me than networking in China as a result.
  23. Lol I also applied on literally the last day, AND sent in an updated transcript and resume like 2 weeks later, so that may also have had something to do with it.
  24. I just checked, mine still has the full checklist. Ruh roh.
