  1. Sounds like you’ve got a lot of great experiences! I second what’s been said about research, especially if you can find a faculty member to work under that you get along well with. This can lead to a strong letter of recommendation from your faculty supervisor which is really helpful? Definitely start to think about who you’d like to ask for letters of rec as well, and if you are coming up short start building good relationships with professors (going to office hours, participating in class, etc.) For GRE, I 100% recommend gregmat.com His videos are free and awesome. The only prep I did for writing was watching his videos and I got a 5 on that section. Definitely a great resource before you go spending tons of money on GRE prep materials. Good luck in your senior year and I’m sure you’ll get into a lot of great programs!
  2. Hey! I applied to UT and I haven't heard back and my portal hasn't changed either. Since only two people posted their responses I'm trying not to worry about it too much. Hope this helps(:
  3. I just graduated from CU with my undergrad if you have any questions about the department or Boulder in general! Feel free to message me.
  4. I applied out of state because I really wanted a bilingual Spanish-English focus for my masters. That being said, now looking at the cost I'm feeling a little stressed about that decision. I still stand by it because I'm ultimately paying for the education (so it should be the education I want), but I would definitely stay in state if the programs were comparable. I agree with what's been said here about big picture finances. You can always relocate or go out of state for work (check out advanced travel therapy), but I wouldn't pay the extra $$$ for the experience of going to school out of state. Good luck with your decision and congrats on getting in!
  5. That's so awesome that you've already gotten accepted! And congrats on PDX! PDX was my first choice for a long time because of their bilingual program, but after seeing the cost of tuition I might need to go somewhere a little cheaper. When I looked at tuition there originally I didn't realize it was a quarter system, so I thought it would be closer to 30K and not 60K ? I would love to go to the open house, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it happen with my work schedule and flights. I might do the google hangouts option! Congrats again!
  6. Hey all! I thought I would start a thread for people to share their victories, big or small! Brag on yourself a little and give some support and congratulations to the wonderful people in the SLP (to be) community ?
  7. My last name starts with P, so I'm in the middle. If you haven't gotten a rejection then they haven't sent out all their decisions yet, so I would definitely stay hopeful. Especially since there are only a handful of decisions posted on the results page...I don't know how they do it there, but my guess is that there are still waves of decisions to come (and probably soon!) Let me know if you hear anything!
  8. Hey there! To my knowledge it depends largely on the program. That being said, you can go to the results page on grad cafe and search "speech language pathology University of _____" and get a general idea of when and how admissions decisions were handed out in years past. For example I applied to Portland State, and it seems like they send out all their decisions at once (admitted, rejected and waitlisted). But for Arizona State, it looks like they might send admissions in waves. I would go peek there and see when people got their decisions in 2019 and that should give you a timeframe to expect your decisions this year. Hope this is helpful! Good luck!
  9. Did anyone apply to project INICIO at UO? Have you heard back about it yet? Thanks!
  10. Gosh I don’t remember exactly but it was close to the deadline. I probably submitted around Dec. 7th or so.
  11. Hey! I was accepted to ASU on Feb 10 and they sent me an email to let me know. I'm an out of state applicant, so my guess is that it's not based on residency. I have no idea if this helps or not, but I wouldn't give up hope! Some people already were rejected according to the results page...so if you weren't rejected that's probably a good sign! Good luck either way(:
