  1. I just heard back on my aid reconsideration too! Went up by $10,000 total ($5,000 per year) so not bad. I asked for more but it's relatively close and certainly an improvement, so I'm happy. Good luck to everyone else!!
  2. I received the invitations to the talks-- I think they actually sent out two reminders about it to all admitted students from what I understand, so double check your emails! It's just registering for discussions with professors about academics, pretty sure they are open to everyone and unrelated from aid offers. Haven't heard back about reconsideration yet. ** should also clarify that invitation to speak with professors might only be for SAIS Europe students
  3. Yes, you had to ask admissions if you could be reconsidered for aid and they would let you know if they could put you on a waiting list or not. I asked and was put on the list, and I just heard back on Thursday that they were able to offer me some aid!
  4. You might want to try asking for an extension of the enrollment deadline first (and make sure they promise that an extension would still let you keep any scholarship of course). That way you might not have to lose the $500. None of mine should even overlap but that's what I plan to do for both SAIS and Fletcher because I don't want 2 days to decide in case the three schools I've been accepted to turn out to be roughly the same price. I can report back on their responses if that's helpful.
  5. I'm in a very similar position. I've heard they like to counteroffer when they already offer you a decent amount, i.e. jumping from 50% funding to 75%, but it doesn't seem like they are open to matching anything if they didn't offer you funding in the first place. But I suppose you never know. That's why I was hoping they would have a funding waitlist... but maybe they don't have one this year or the people on it have already been notified separately.
  6. I've heard that in previous years, some people were placed on a funding waitlist... was anyone told this in their admission email or in a separate email? I didn't get offered any funding, but holding out hope that I could potentially receive funding later. Just want to see if others were already notified of being on a list, that way at least I'll know it's unlikely for me to get anything later.
  7. Good to know, thanks! I wish I knew I had to fill out the FAFSA form, I honestly had no idea... I wish it was better advertised. Hope this won't substantially delay my financial award information or make me less likely to receive any because of my lateness.
  8. Okay thank you!!! I will get right on that. But does this mean I haven't been considered for any merit-based awards or scholarships at all? Or is that just for needs-based aid only?
  9. Congrats to those accepted so far! I'm a bit confused.... I applied to the MA with 1 year in SAIS Europe and 1 year in DC. I was accepted but my letter didn't reference aid at all. Did we have to fill out those FAFSA forms by February 15th to be considered for scholarships at all?? I totally didn't know that so I hope not.......
