  1. Hi guys! I recently got admitted to UBC's master's program in political science (I also got accepted into U Toronto, but their faculty is much more IR focused, whereas I'm interested in comparative). I'm an American who chose to do her master's outside of the U.S. However, I intend to complete my Phd in Political Science in an American institution (I'm especially interested in the UC system). I wanted to know if any of you had any knowledge of the quality of social science and politics research in UBC, as well as the Canadian system all around. I really like UBC's faculty (they've also offered me funding which is great) but I'm curious as to how this institution is perceived in the U.S. when it comes to applying for PhD programs. I know competitively speaking I might be at a disadvantage compared to graduates who complete their master's at U.S. institutions. Thank you!!
