  1. Interesting, but that doesn't help someone who is trying to get closure ? Also I'm expecting the waitlist to be large since they received over 500 applications this year...
  2. I'm in the 3rd quadrant for SLP at Western. I guess I'll talk to some of you again for the 2022 application session ?
  3. A bit hard to find but for fall 2020 I think it was this: from https://www.registrar.uwo.ca/student_finances/fees_refunds/fee_refund_schedules.html
  4. I'm wondering this too. I emailed her with my gmail at 6:00 am on April 1 but haven't received a response ?
  5. I have, but no response yet. Judging by how many people got waitlisted, she probably has a million emails to go through lol
  6. I've sent an email but I'm sure Janet is swamped, no response yet. The email said they won't release the exact position lol
  7. I've taken a couple of open studies courses at UofA, thanks for sharing, it helps a lot!
  8. 100% agree. I think my biggest mistake was underestimating how competitive the applications are, I was so naïve that last year I applied to McMaster with a 3.3 subgpa, among other Ontario universities. I know it is not the universities' responsibility to hold your hand through the process, but I do think they are a bit at fault for saying stuff like "minimum gpa is 3.3". I feel they should have some sort of pre-screening where you are told that you do not stand a chance. It would save them work and spare us some suffering. I reapplied this year with a much better subgpa and got waitlisted at Western, but I'm not being too hopeful. I'm lucky enough that my worst grades are further back in my subgpa so I can improve it to low 3.80s by taking a couple of courses. So I'll do that and try to get some volunteer/research experience although I think that opportunities won't be easy to find. Similarly to you, I do have regrets as I have invested several years of my life into what I consider my calling but I am unable to get in, and one of the only reasons I do not give up is that I have invested so much in it. I'm not so sure I'd make the same choices if I could go back.
  9. Received the rejection from UofT. Now a few more weeks of agony for the waitlist at Western. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get research experience after graduation? It seems that they really value research experience but I have no idea on how to get it if you're not enrolled in a program. I'd really appreciate any help. Congratulations again to everyone who got in and I hope that those who didn't will eventually get their chance.
  10. It says they have 50 positions in 2021 https://www.ouac.on.ca/guide/orpas-program-requirements/
  11. I got waitlisted on the Western portal, nothing on ORPAS so I'm guessing it's a rejection from UofT.
  12. Unfortunately no, I've taken both CSD undergraduate courses to improve my subGPA and I really liked them, but relocating that far is not an option for me. I've only applied to Ontario schools and it's not looking good But not losing hope until April 1!
  13. Absolutely. I've been balancing volunteering with updating my grades and working full time for a couple of years, so learning that UofT may completely disregard that is a punch in the gut. Well a few posts above you mentioned that you did get a letter from an SLP anyway, and if Western mentioned that thing with prior arrangements I'm sure they'll consider it. There's still some hope for Western!
  14. I think it'd be extremely unfair for them not to consider volunteering experiences at all. As tazm mentioned, some people spent years accumulating hundreds of hours. Hypothetically, Covid would have affected those that did not do any volunteering up until March 2020, which would have been a bit late to start. Also it made it harder but not impossible to get hours (I'm still doing online volunteering), so the fair thing would be to give it less weight.
  15. Just received the rejection email from McMaster. If you're waiting and you haven't received one, maybe there's hope for you? ?
  16. How do you know that you've been rejected though? Until I see it for sure, I naively keep on hoping for some kind of miracle ? Hopefully the universities that look at us more holistically will see past our subGPA. Can't help but feel super frustrated and inadequate though. I really wish that McMaster would disclose some kind of minimum subGPA needed to come close to the top 125 rather than telling us the 3.3 crap and setting us up for disappointment. I mean, has anyone with a 3.3 ever gotten in? I highly doubt that...
  17. I obsessively went back to check and those who got the invitation and that shared their subGPA have a 3.90, 3.88, 3.84. I have a 3.67 and haven't received anything, so I guess I didn't make the cut ?
  18. I applied last year at UofT and received the rejection on April 1 (and two more emails confirming the rejection, as if one wasn't enough ?), nothing before that. But yes, you should have received an email to activate your McMaster account in mid-January.
  19. Amazing stats, but I find it kinda funny that someone with that average is worried ? I'm pretty sure you're going to be accepted by every single school
  20. Like the previous post, I confirm that it is correct. The only way for that semester to be excluded from calculation is taking more courses, which really sucks. For me it is bringing down my subGPA by 0.06 because it's only counting half a credit, but since I failed a course in that semester, the average for that half credit is 1.85 ??? It is a very unforgiving system. I've mostly gotten As and A+s (except for 1 B and 2 B+ in half credit courses) in my last 19 credits, but because of that semester my subGPA is only 3.67.
  21. Yes, to correct my previous post, the subGPA is under document tracking. By the way, is it normal that they count a no credit course?? I got an F in my 3rd year that I retook the next year and got an A but they are counting it in the average of that 3rd year semester. I understand the competitiveness and everything but it just seems cruel and it is not even for credit...even though it is only partially counted, it lowers my subGPA by 0.03.
  22. I don't think I got an email last year. It should show up in either postsecondary education or transcripts soon
  23. I just put the link for the current course and then added a note in the "details" section saying that I attached a syllabus. Hopefully that will work! Good luck!
