The rejection I got today from Northwestern was also an offer to be considered for the Master's program. It was a specialized email and my portal wasn't updated. I also applied last year and got the same result. Others who didn't got rejected a couple days later without the Master's program offer and their portal was updated. Not sure if it's the same as last year or not since the other rejections I see this year don't mention the Master's offer. Sorry I don't have better news

It was basically a chat to see if I had any questions about Virginia Tech. I'm on campus so I didn't have much to say. Virginia Tech admissions are rolling, so you can still get in without being invited to the interview weekend. Sometimes you can get in after the April 15th deadline.

I have a zoom meeting with the student on Wednesday. I have no idea what to expect, but she told me to reach out to the graduate coordinator in my department for specific details about my decision. The email and mailed package was supposed to be sent to me though. If I were to make a guess, I think we're waitlisted, but I don't know. Honestly, I'm not gonna reach out to the graduate coordinator because I like my other options.

I responded to the student that emailed me asking if this was a mistake and to see if this was supposed to be sent to my cohort member who is in the same NIH PREP program as me.

I got the same email today and got a VT engineering tote bag, pin, and phone wallet in the mail. I don't have an acceptance letter either but my friend got an acceptance letter and an invite to the recruitment weekend which starts today. I have no idea what is going on and I'm doing the NIH PREP program here.

Thanks for telling me! Dang, I feel bad for the people who believed it was an interview invite....

Did anyone else who applied to UPenn BioE get that email about the virtual event for prospective students? It seems a lot of people in the results section of gradcafe got the same email. Anyone who was invited to the UPenn interview visit, was Wednesday February 24th one of the interview days?

Dude, I got the notification in the middle of my UCSD group interview. It took all my power to keep a straight face. I have two more interview visits left and I'm either waitlisted at my remaining schools or they already sent interview invites. I'm 90% sure I'm going to Yale, but I'll be attending the other visits because it's too late to rescind, I want free merch, and I want to learn as much about the schools before making a decision. I hope Yale has a recruitment event so I can learn more (and get free merch), but I'd be ok if there wasn't one.

Interesting, will your program be online? Virginia Tech's program was supposed to start June 15th, then got pushed to July 15th, then got pushed to the vague date of "Fall 2020" after they extended the application deadline. Coronavirus sucks

Has anybody else's program been delayed? Virginia Tech was delayed to Fall 2020 and I have no idea how they will be able to prep us for the Fall 2021 PhD application process in time.
