whoa your stats are completely different from mine! I’m sorry about that if Columbia was your first choice. I was no where near a 3.8 gpa. But I’ve done a lot of social service hours and have a non profit. I did go to UCLA and have done research but I literally am curious as to what they are looking for in applicants. I wonder if they look heavily at LORs and essays.

Why are you coming on here with an agenda to insult people? You don’t understand why people are applying to Columbia. For all you know someone could have gotten their BA from Columbia and apply to their SW program. You need to go somewhere else. He is literally a troll who created his account an hour ago.

You should look at the course catalogs of both schools to see what you’re interests are in the present! both schools are great depending on what you want for your future self. NYU is also a bragging rights name if someone ever asks. We all end up as social workers anyway.

Graduation Timing vs. Application Timing

When I was in undergrad at UCLA two of my friends were applying to MSW programs our senior year and got into programs by the time we graduated! All they had to do was turn in their final transcripts confirming their overall gpa once they accepted the offer. Which was UCLA again! But they got into UW and Columbia from what I remember and it would have been the same process. -
Congratulations!!! It looks like Columbia is starting to release people who applied mid January. I think February applications will come out mid-late April

I wonder why Columbia has been taking so long and it seems like a pattern (from other past forums). If they know other schools honor the deadline they say why would they wait so long to release decisions? It’s a 50/50 chance students will pick Columbia over another great MSW program especially bc other schools give extensions as well.

Omg congratulations!!! I got my BA from UCLA. I had so much fun during undergrad and a couple of my friends went into the MSW program straight after getting their BA. They loved the program!!! I didn’t apply bc I wanted to experience the east coast!
