  1. THANK YOU! This was so helpful, I've been lost where to even start. Congrats on Columbia and with the appeal, that is amazing!!!
  2. hey there. Has anyone had success appealing for more scholarship money? if so, I'd love any advice on how to go about doing that. thank you!
  3. Would love advice on this as well, struggling with the same thing.
  4. Also going to toss into the discussion about NYU v Columbia- where's Fordham fall into the mix? Right now I've only heard back from NYU and Fordham and already struggling, if I get accepted to columbia its going to be quite the decision!
  5. @MSW.K @sweetater hi both!! just read through your comments thought I'd give my two cents! I am considering NYU and HOPEFULLY will be admitted to columbia soon and be in the same boat! I also did my undergrad in nyc so can help if yall have questions about NY. as far as the programs go, i've also heard columbia is better for macro and nyu is more clinical but IMO, kind of feel like that is outdated because it seems like you can cater each program more to what you want to focus on through electives etc. field placements are probably very similar, so I don't think that carries too much weight for me in differentiating the two. i can't remember how columbia does field placements - I know NYU basically chooses yours the first year and you have more say the second year. Would love if you know about columbia's process bc i think field placement is super important and i have heard that a lot of first year students at NYU aren't thrilled w how it's worked out. aside from that - both also have incredible faculty and almuni network but maybe one program has better resources for what you are interested in than another? like a research lab or specific faculty member you want to work with /learn from? then of course, the $$$. to be completely honest though, i don't think one program is significantly better than another enough to go further into debt. sorry this is so long hahaha but would love to hear your thought processes for making your decision/ any tips from anyone else on this thread!!
  6. Ugh sorry youre in the same boat but also glad to know I'm not the only one. I attended so many information sessions this year and I could have sworn they said 6-8 weeks if you apply by the priority deadline. I guess they don't include the time it takes to go under review? good luck though and def post if you hear anything next week!
  7. has anyone else who applied to columbia 12/1 not heard back yet? i feel forgotten about lol. i really thought id hear something this week but once again Friday afternoon and so bummed ill have to wait another weekend
  8. hey!! oof. I applied to the dual in pop fam too!!! AHH I am so jealous and eager to hear back. If you don't mind can you share stats? and congrats again!!

  10. Omg, CONGRATS!! I found another forum and heard people are getting their acceptances!! I haven't heard anything and no changes to my portal. I've been checking my email like crazy. What time did you hear back? So exciting
  11. Hey!! Congrats on acceptance to Michigan. We overlap with Columbia, although I applied to the Population and Family health. Also applied to NYU, UCLA, USC, Brown. Was hesitant with UMich...maybe I will. Also considering BU! Anyway, good luck- let me know when you hear back! Super eager to hear from Columbia.
  12. Hey, have yet to find a thread of people applying for Fall 2021 cycle of MPH programs. I've applied to NYU, Columbia, UCLA, USC, Brown.. but the list is growing! Where are people applying/has anyone been accepted?
  13. Hey! Just out of curiosity, the people that have been accepted to Columbia already - which concentration and field of practice did you choose from?
