  1. They said: "In order to determine eligibility, 21-22 FAFSA must be on file. Scholarships are offered through the academic departments. We encourage students to contact their academic department for opportunities available. In addition, please review the link below to our Scholarship Homepage for more information." The scholarship homepage linked was the general Hunter one, and wasn't super helpful in answering my questions though I may try to dig deeper. I responded to them and hopefully they'll get back with a clearer answer. And I'm still deciding but feeling pretty set on accepting. I'm deciding between Hunter and NYU (haven't heard back from Columbia but it's not my top choice), but all the feedback I've gotten is that if you're queer and into social justice and not just tryna go directly into private practice, Hunter is the move. Not to mention the difference in cost!!
  2. Hey @britonline! I think we may have been in the same interview (Rachel!) I didn't get a financial aid package yet and when I reached out to ask, they responded about scholarships. So it's not clear to me whether the need-based fin aid falls under scholarships or not. I'll keep you updated on what I hear, but definitely didn't get any info upon being granted admission. Also, I'm going to be paying out-of-state tuition my first year (though it sounds like I will be able to pay in-state tuition after having lived there a year), so I don't know if that factors in at all. Has anyone else had any luck getting info about financial aid? Esp those of you who have chosen to enroll?
  3. FYI I interviewed last week on Tuesday and just heard back today and got in! I got answers sooner than I expected! I hope y'all hear soon.
  4. I appreciate everyone's feedback! I did already submit to Columbia, Hunter, and BU so I'm glad those are in and done. I am finishing the NYU app now and they actually did say they recommend the earlier deadlines (so they may take a bottom of the barrel approach) but I figured it doesn't hurt to give myself another chance even if I might have disadvantaged myself by applying late. Best of luck to everyone. I really appreciate that this forum exists! Makes the waiting process a little less painful.
  5. So I was under the assumption that I couldn't apply to Hunter until the Feb 1 date (and a Hunter staff person in an info session said that applications submitted before that date wouldn't be considered before/prioritized) so I held my Columbia app back so I would hopefully hear back from both places around the same time. Now I'm stressed that I put myself at the "bottom of the barrel" for both schools. Did anyone else apply late Jan/Early Feb? I also heard there are more applications to social work programs this year than in past years (probably related to COVID) so I'm nervous that I only applied to 3 schools and am working on submitting a last-minute app to NYU. Do you think applying to a school now is a lost cause because it's TRULY bottom of the barrel? I know none of us have these answers but would appreciate any insights people have. Thanks!
  6. I submitted to CSSW late January. I'm hoping to hear back in March but who knows!
  7. Hmm yea I guess I should call to make sure everything is set with my application. Thanks for your insights!
  8. Ooh -- good to know. I emailed them for the same reason and hadn't heard back but figured it was clerical delays. Sounds like there's nothing else we need to do but wait even though it says incomplete? I did also apply to full time clinical practice. For what it's worth, I'm out of state though. I'm not sure whether that hurts or helps my chances!
  9. @vincentmsw I am about to submit for Feb 1. How about you?
  10. Hey there! In a info session, I was informed that they likely won't get back to folks until March or even April, regardless of when we submit. I am hoping their responses don't come too much later than other schools I've applied to (because some other schools have said end of Feb/early March and I know we have a limited time to make our decisions. Good luck to you!
  11. Hey -- I considered UPenn and NYU as well, but landed on applying to Hunter, Columbia and BU. When do you plan on submitting your applications? I'm trying to submit all mine at the same time in hopes that I hear back around the same time. What are you most excited about for those different schools?
