  1. I didn't either , I feel better knowing that it was only 25 successful applicants out of I am assuming a lot of applicants, but disappointing none the less!
  2. oh no! I will have to stay patient a little bit longer. Thanks for sharing this. I ended up emailing admissions to get an aproximate date and all I got was a response saying: "Please visit our Application Checklist page for the decision target dates. We are not able to provide a “specific date”. Decisions may be made earlier or later than expected and will be sent electronically to the email address provided at time of application" Hoping that we will hear back in May and not have to wait until June!!!
  3. Has anyone heard back from Laurier for the MSW Part time (online) foundation program for working professionals? The website says target for offers is May, and I know it is only May 3rd but I have already been obsessively refreshing my Laurier Grad app lol.
  4. Congratulations! Is this the online program for working professionals? I applied to the MSW foundation online program and I am still waiting to hear back.
  5. Does anyone have an opinion they could share on the MSW for working professional program at UWindsor (Peel) and the MSW part-time online at Laurier? Debating my options and would love to hear anyones opinion! Does one have more of a clinical focus? Thanks! Katie
  6. Congrats! Did you apply for the regular in person track? I applied for the online part time MSW for working professionals and am still waiting to hear back
  7. What type of program does UWindsor offer? Is it community based social work or does it have a clinical aspect as well?
  8. I think it is May for Non-BSW applicants, I am anxiously waiting! https://www.wlu.ca/programs/social-work/graduate/social-work-msw/application-checklist/index.html
  9. Thank you! Sending you positive thoughts for your acceptance as well!
  10. Hey! The same thing happened to me, I had originally applied in December and at the end of February my status date changed and still said in process. A week later I was accepted, so I am hoping the same for you!
  11. Has anyone heard back from University of Windsor MSW for working professionals (non BSW route? I was told 4-6 weeks but I applied mid December and still haven't heard back yet. My status change date still says in process but my status change date changed to Feb 25th. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
  12. Thanks! It is so hard to wait! Yes I am referring to the one where you attend class in person on weekends, I applied to the Peel location. I have also applied to WLU MSW online for a September start, but I have heard I won't hear back until at least May 2021. Thanks for your help Katie
  13. Has anyone applied and heard back from UWindsor MSW Regular track? I heard that rolling admissions is 4-6 week. I applied in December but haven't heard back yet, just curious what peoples experiences are for wait times. Thanks!
  14. Hey! I know your post is from a year ago, but I have just applied to the 2 year MSW online program. I am about to finish my undergrad in Early Childhood Education (Honours) and have about 10 years experience working in the field of Early Childhood Education, my current job for the last 2 and a half years has been a consultant where I mentor other educators. Do you know what admissions looks for when considering who gets accepted into the program? Thanks!
  15. Hey thanks so much I will look into Dalhousie as an option! Good luck to you as well
  16. Hi everyone, I just recently applied to the part-time online MSW (Non BSW Route) at Laurier for September 2021. I have heard the admission process is very competitive and I am wondering if I can gain some insight on just how competitive it really is. I have over 10 years of work experience working as an Early Childhood Educator, approximately 5 years in leadership roles as a childcare supervisor (1 Year), support facilitator working with educators to support children with special needs (1 year), and Professional learning consultant where I work with educators and facilitate presentations on various topics to support children and educators in early learning programs(2.7 years and counting). I am completing my final course of my undergrad (Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Honours at Brock University), In my final course I am completing my undergrad thesis which is looking at burnout in Early Childhood Educators and it's implications on their mental well-being as well as the impact on their relationships with children in their care. I am going with the REB route as I have heard that helps with admissions to masters programs. I was able to get a reference from my Thesis Advisor, My colleague who has her BSW, and my Manager at my current place of work, 2 out of three of my references shared what they said about me and they seem like strong references, but I am second guessing my application as I have been reading others comments that many have not been accepted. I am worried that my professional experience is not enough, have their been any successful applicants with an educational background? I believe my current grade average is 80-85% which I believe Laurier considers as competitive. I am also wondering if there are any other non BSW part time Masters programs or post grad BSW programs offered in Canada. I was looking at U of T but it seems that it is only offered full time which I am unable to do as I need my job for income, mortgage payments, etc. I have currently only applied to Laurier as it would meet my need for work/school/life balance but am now thinking it may be worth applying to other options as back up? I would love to hear peoples thoughts and perspectives.....waiting until May 2021 for an admissions decision will test my patience! Good luck to anyone else applying!!
