  1. As some people have gotten waitlist notifications I assume decisions are either in progress or have been made. Never heard of them doing two rounds of interviews before but I don't know if that's a thing they do!
  2. I did! Interviewed on Feb 4 but haven't heard anything since
  3. Just a heads up that I made a thread for CGSM for the 2022-2023 cycle as the results date is approaching! Feel free to vent/discuss to your heart's content:
  4. Hey guys, I didn't see a thread for CGSM so I went ahead and made one for 2022-2023 as the deadline is approaching! I thought it would be a useful place to discuss offers and be helpful for those selected for the alternate list to assess chances of getting an award if someone is going to accept/decline! Here is the link:
  5. Hey guys, I noticed there was no thread made for CGSM this year, and as April 1 rolls closer I thought having a place to discuss results and see if people are thinking of accepting or declining their awards can help people who were selected for the alternate list! Feel free to discuss/vent to your heart's content below
  6. I'm going ahead and assuming rejection at this point ? I'm holding out hope for another waitlist at the moment as well so I've kinda just let the U of A ship sail away hahaha
  7. Got my refusal letter from McGill this morning congrats to all who were accepted!
  8. Anyone heard anything about Calgary's waitlist? Yesterday was the deadline to accept and someone mentioned on the results page a couple years back they don't give updates until after the deadline. I know it's been less than 24 hours but I am antsy HAHA
  9. Apparently some people from OISE CCP were waitlisted today. Anyone heard anything about acceptances or rejections from their POIs?
  10. I mean, then they could just create a bigger waitlist and reject the rest, like most schools do. I don't think waitlisting folks is necessarily giving them false hope - although I am hoping for the best, I am assuming the worst with the schools I am waitlisted at. It's better than radio silence for those "in between" being waitlisted and rejected - had I not emailed I would have just been sitting in limbo, possibly for months.
  11. I personally am having an extremely hard time understanding this. Why not make the waitlists longer then? And why are so many people considered "backups"?
  12. To the program admin? They may give you the same response!
  13. Bad news bears for U of A Thesis. I emailed to clarify what it means if you haven't been rejected, waitlisted, or accepted yet. As they have sent out offers already, it basically means they are having you on standby in case everyone from the waitlist declines, as the waitlist for thesis "isn't very long". I am extremely confused - why not just make the waitlist longer then?
  14. Was that for the MED or CCP? I feel like it may apply to both anyways though haha
  15. Ouch... I wonder if that's the same for the Counselling Psych thesis-based program? I don't wanna email hahaha I'm too scared
  16. U of A's rollout is so weird!! And yet nobody has heard anything about thesis-based acceptances??
  17. If anyone hears anything about U of A thesis let me know, I heard of some waitlists earlier and some rejections yesterday but no acceptances!! What on earth is going on with their notifications this cycle??
  18. I've already been waitlisted for the course based but have not heard anything about the thesis based - I have heard some thesis based rejections went out today as well, so I also am wondering if all the rejections went out at once or if they're staggering them out or something
  19. Was it also you who posted in the results page? I haven't heard anything yet so I don't know what to make of it!
  20. I agree with this, while also stressing that there definitely is a right way to disclose certain things. I disclosed a challenge in one of my SOI's that landed me an interview, so obviously it wasn't seen as a red flag, but that said it absolutely can be considered as such if written about inappropriately. I think it's seen as a red flag if you use your struggles as THE reason why you would make a great candidate for the program. While it will definitely be an asset during clinical work, there's a whole slew of intellectual and academic demands that grad school brings, and they want to make sure the students they admit are capable of handling it. So if you limit it to one sentence when discussing your motivation, that's fine. But if you write a whole narrative in the opening paragraph about it with some victory arc as the reason you will succeed in the future... not convincing. Definitely use your stats and achievements as hard facts that you'll crush it in their program!
  21. I posted this in the clinical thread already, but for those who applied to OISE CCP here - I emailed my POI for an update and he said things are "approaching the recommendation stage" and apparently there has been a delay because they are changing administrative systems. Sorta vague but it's nice to know they're working on it!
  22. Just realized I never posted an update for OISE CCP. I emailed my POI and he said things are "approaching the recommendation stage", and there's apparently a delay because they're changing administrative systems. Super vague, but hey, they're working on it haha
  23. They emailed those who were waitlisted but I don't think they gave acceptances or rejections yet for some reason
  24. That's so disappointing, I feel for everyone who applied to this program!
