Same. I applied to those two, and that is the only aid offered. Did you already get any news in regards to that aid? (I did not) and do you think you going is contingent on you getting aid? (I was also told that they do not give full time departmental assistanship AND alice beck scholarship to the same student usually (maybe implying that it never happened before) )

Sorry, do you mean 32k off for 2 years overall? Then yes, considering that SVA’s tuition is 50k a year, a departmental assistanship is prefferable. (about the resumé part I am not too sure though as I am not assisting a class or a professor, but working in a equipment cage. But it definitely gives me opportunity to build rapport with faculty etc. Don’t get me wrong - I would love to get the assistanship!

Yeah... only to photo, cause photo candidates do not have merit scholarships, unfortunately... the biggest thing that can happen aid-wise is that an applicant gets a departmental assistanship (you work for SVA) and get half of tuition off. But unfortunately it will never be as good as getting 32k off. but I am very happy for you!

Hey, PHOTO people did any of you get results from Parsons or University of Washington? also, the ones who got accepted to SVA: have you already gotten scholarship offers? (Not fafsa, but directly from SVA)

This is not rude at all. (I got recommend to do such leveraging by a Parsons professor and they said it is very common, and they heavily recommended it).

Sorry, I did not mean “sorry you are in SVA”, but “sorry about the financial aid”. It really sucks. Did you get any other acceptances? You can leverage those and ask SVA for more aid?

I am still on the edge of my seat waiting on the results of my interviews (I had two really good ones from each) from UW and Parsons. but I think UW is my top one because of funding and stipend possibilities. I hope we can be cohort members

You know it was only 15 min and they kind of let me know with their attitude (they were polite and nice but I sensed that there was a feeling of urgency) that there is no time for extra questions so I just jumped into what I am doing right now (and it is very much related to my portfolio in certain ways). So I unfortunately can’t answer your question very well.

Just to specify: I am very much on the left, Jordan Peterson thing is a joke as he likes using the term “postmodernism” in his speeches. i have not listened to Liu’s video so far, I am sure it will be very educating.

Just had USC interview. it was indeed 15 minutes, short and sweet, I think I did really well. questions they asked: who I am and what I am working on right now? why USC? More questions directly related to my practice. i had time to ask one question

Edit: I am a blind idiot, problem resolved. Can I someone give me some HELP I have my USC interview tomorrow morning and I just realized that I don’t remember which rendition of my portfolio I sent them (I have two slightly different versions) i submitted it through Slideroom but I think after you submit a Slideroom application you can not log into that profile, it is just gone. Does anyone have ideas?

I am basically praying to god (although i am extremely atheist) that U of Washington would accept me.

Photo. Is Parsons your top choice? (For me it is all funding dependent, but I am going between it and U of Washington which is fully funded (if I get accepted to both)
