i also received my “official rejection” from guelph cft. i laughed out loud at the part where it says “Admission is based on a careful evaluation of each candidate's application, taking into account academic achievement, preparation for advanced study, comments from referees and research interests of applicants.” …. we weren’t even considered for the program because it isn’t even happening? it is appalling that they chose to act as if we were all simply rejected. it is also so disheartening, especially to think that if it wasn’t for this forum, applicants would actually just be thinking they didn’t make the cut, being completely unaware that nobody was ever going to make the cut. their actions are a complete disappointment and their reputation has gone down the drain in one swoop.. i truly hope applicants for future application seasons see what transpired for fall 2022 and don’t even bother applying, especially knowing that this could easily happen again as they clearly have no intentions on broadcasting this OR even refunding applicants (which is the LEAST they could do).

Would you mind sharing when your friend who was shortlisted was notified of this? Still can’t believe Guelph CFT had no intentions on informing us that there wasn’t going to be a Fall 2022 program. ?

every person that applied was scammed.. the money was taken under false pretences.. and it's especially interesting as we have yet to hear from anyone who is on this supposed shortlist... overall, this is very unfortunate

Asked about a refund, received this: "You will not be refunded. As I mentioned, before the decision was made not to take applicants, applicants were shortlisted and you did not make the shortlist. Interviews were Feb. 14-18. Not sure if they are doing more this week

Wow …. this is unfortunate and very confusing. As someone who did apply to this program and knowing that some applicant’s statuses have changed to refused, I am wondering if maybe they aren’t doing interviews but still accepting candidates. The only reason I am wondering this is because my status is still “All documents received”. While I hope that this idea may be true, I don’t have high hopes that it is given the information that was shared and am assuming that a rejection is coming soon. Overall… wow

So.. has anyone heard anything? Do we know if the interviews were cancelled?

So I am trying to find out if they are accepting applicants and only cancelling interviews or what is happening here.. upon googling I see this.. this is for the program and where students do their placements.

Oh no I am sorry to hear that. I had my fingers crossed for you that it was an error, I am surprised they have started this early. I hope that you get good news from another school soon? Did you apply to 1 or 2 year?

Mine also says “decision pending”
