  1. Hellloooo!!!! Sry---once the rejections started flowing in, I had a hard time coming here because anxiety, grief, etc. But moving on now! Hope you and everyone else here are doing well! Also! We have room for a few more in our FICTION workshop if anyone else wants to join! We meet Monday nights at 6pm central.
  2. Congratulations! That’s awesome!!! And thank you so much for the info!
  3. I just messaged everyone who expressed interest in forming a fiction workshp group. If I missed you or if you're interested, send me a private message with what days/times you're available!
  4. For those of us who are staring down a possible clean sweep of rejections this year and want to prepare for next season, would any fiction kids be willing to form a critique group? Thoughts are that it would either be over zoom (traditional workshop-style) or maybe just laid back exchange of google docs over email.
  5. Yes--you can re-use the letters.
  6. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted or waitlisted!!! I, on the other hand, have canceled my no day-drinking rule. Currently sipping straight vodka from a demitasse cup like a classy m-f-er.
  7. Just checked Vandy portal. First official rejection letter!!!
  8. Rejections won't be until later. Also, it looks like last year's waitlist notifications came a few weeks after acceptances so definitely don't call it a rejection yet!
  9. 2 CNF and 1 Fiction on gradcafe and same in Draft.
  10. Congrats @cecsav and @cosmictones! Also looks like some NYU notifications are going out--at least fiction and CNF. Good luck to all of you who applied there!
  11. OMG CONGRATS!!!! That's so amazing!!!!!!!! I'm tearing up now. So happy for you!
  12. Don’t worry—I’m not actually in the know. I’m just basing it on past years.
  13. Just popping in to say I hope everyone’s hanging in there. I’ve been a little too paralyzed with anxiety to participate. I’m guessing Iowa will notify tomorrow or at least sometime this week (Michener as well), so good luck to all who applied there!
  14. Ha! I grew up in Indiana and most of my writing is set there. And yes, it is full of mostly corn, soybeans, and despair. I lived in Bloomington for three years, though, and it is actually quite a lovely town. There's a Burmese restaurant there that I always stop at when I'm in the area and IU campus is gorgeous.
  15. So sorry about the rejections! And you're right, it's too early to tell. Who knows what could happen. I'm strictly a night drinker, but I'm right there with you!
  16. Thanks for the encouragement! Just preparing myself. But I know...it's not over till the parking lot's empty.
  17. I also wonder if it's because FSU's app fee is only $30 and it had a late deadline. Makes it an easy add-on for someone already applying other places.
  18. It's possible. Historically, though, they've done all fiction acceptances in the same day. ? I already feel out to be honest. All my programs are such long shots.
  19. I meant Indiana. But yeah, I think she was talking about GM
  20. First acceptance from one of my schools. Cue stomach ache and overwhelming grief.
  21. Wow things are hopping today! There was also a non-fic acceptance from UC-Riverside and poetry from Boise State on Draft. Congrats to everyone who have been accepted so far!!! ??
  22. WOO-HOO!!!! That beer had to have been amazing. Congratulations!!! Where did you get in?
