  1. Congrats! I got into Yale too and will likely be going in the fall, so maybe we will see each other there!
  2. Nope, nothing yet. Luckily it seems nobody has reported hearing from them in the results section of this site yet.
  3. Hey, I heard from Duke CBB yesterday where I got an email to check my portal because the admissions decision was updated. Maybe they are sending them out in batches since you haven't heard anything yet? Hope everything works out
  4. Duke CBB [Interview Invitation 12/16] Yale CBB [Interview Invitation 12/17] Princeton QCB [Interview Invitation 12/12] MIT CSB [Formally Rejected] MIT Biology [Assume rejected] University of Washington MCB [Interview Invitation 12/21] University of Colorado Denver Computational Biosciences [Interview Invitation 12/22] Georgia Institute of Technology- Bioinformatics [have not heard] Heard back from MIT CSB and was rejected. I would assume I am also rejected by MIT Bio because I haven't received an interview request yet. Oh well - no worries. It was my farthest reach and I am ecstatic with my current options regardless ?. Good luck to everyone else who applied to MIT!
  5. Ok cool, good to know! Thanks for the info! I didn't know because I didn't see posts on the Bio Admissions forum on this site.
  6. Anyone heard anything from MIT CSB or MIT Bio yet? It seemed like someone had posted on the results page they had gotten an interview to MIT Bio. Just wasn't sure if anyone else had heard anything.
  7. Heard back from UW MCB and UC Denver CB! Best of luck to everyone! Duke CBB [Interview Invitation 12/16] Yale CBB [Interview Invitation 12/17] Princeton QCB [Interview Invitation 12/12] MIT CSB MIT Biology University of Washington MCB [Interview Invitation 12/21] University of Colorado Denver Computational Biosciences [Interview Invitation 12/22] Georgia Institute of Technology- Bioinformatics EDIT: Mixed up the dates for UW and UCD - my bad
  8. Just a tip for those who are new: you can search to see if anyone has reported the schools they have gotten interviews from on this site under the "Results" tab above. You can search the school and program and use date filtering to help see the most recent results. You may have already known that, but it was something I recently figured out a few days ago. Hope that helps and best of luck!
  9. Thanks! Yeah I saw that in their application information as something they prefer. They were the only school I applied to where they really encouraged contacting a professor.
  10. Duke CBB [Interview Invitation 12/16] Yale CBB [Interview Invitation 12/17] Princeton QCB [Interview Invitation 12/12] MIT CSB MIT Biology University of Washington MCB University of Colorado Denver Computational Biosciences Georgia Institute of Technology- Bioinformatics
  11. I am similar to the other response. I only sent out emails to the PIs that were especially interesting to me and with whom I wanted to speak. I did this mainly with the schools that were my top priority. The responses from PIs were nice and usually amounted to "Thanks for the interest. If you get an interview, we will be in touch." This made me decide it was best to wait until after interview invitations to send out more emails. It doesn't seem like reaching out the professors beforehand greatly impacts your application. It has the possibility of giving you a leg up, but there's no guarantee. It seems that experience in the field is normally prioritized, and reaching out to professors is ancillary unless otherwise stated by the program. If you didn't reach out to many professors, I wouldn't worry. Good luck, and I wish you the best!
