I haven't heard back from UMass yet.... I hope I get good news from them though, definitely near the top of my list!

I hope so too. When I spoke with a faculty member there, they said they hope to inform applicants of their decisions in the beginning of Feb, mid-feb at the latest.

Also just saw this. Perhaps letters will be a big deciding factor this year?

Also just saw UMass prof posted on twitter that they had 167 applicants to their PhD Poli Sci Program. They seem to have finished reading over the letters of rec according to her post. Not sure how many people they admit....but hopefully for those of us who applied, we hear back soon!

I also had 4 strong letters and had spoken with a few profs at BU. I'm not that bummed because it wasn't my top choice, but I'm a bit like..ooouff, starting off this admission cycle on a bad note LOL
