I studied at Edinburgh during undergrad. Probably my favorite city ever.
-
Pending: Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Boston U, Chicago, Indiana, Georgetown, USC, EUI, Graduate Institute Geneva Rejected: LSE How do we?
-
I wholeheartedly share this sentiment.
-
This is what I keep telling myself so I don’t feel anxious this week.
-
Perhaps you or someone else currently located in the US can call? No one claimed the earlier admit either, so I’d be cautious to think it’s real.
-
I’m actually making milk bread so I am distracted all day haha
-
Totally agree, or at least stop checking the results page. I think we can all agree there are too many trolls affecting the ‘reality’ of or ‘truthfulness’ to the results posted on there. I personally haven’t checked it at all today because I wish to avoid any added anxiety. Hopefully I can say the same tomorrow haha
-
They’ll typically always send emailed or portal offers even if an initial acceptance is done by phone. Documentation is key I think.
-
How bored are you to really be spending your time criticising other people for NO reason. Just ignore our boring messages.
-
Don't apologise. You didn't do anything wrong.
-
If people are curious or it somehow helps them feel better, just let them be! This forum is for everyone and it's meant to be supportive.
-
I wouldn't expect Princeton until Thursday or Friday at the earliest given the last few years. Hopefully we're lucky enough to hear tomorrow!
-
I hope we hear back this week, and with good news of course haha. Good luck!!
-
I am expecting later this week or early next week. No telling if it'll be delayed this year though Edit: I checked the confirmation email I got, and it says decisions will be made by late Spring, so not very helpful given the vagueness.
-
I’ve applied to 11, only heard from one and it’s one in the UK. Don’t worry. It is still early in the game.
-
I remember someone mentioning that Columbia and other unis have also been a target of trolls in past years. Why? I have to imagine it has to do with the person(s)’s inner feelings towards themselves.
-
I know, it’s exactly the same thing I thought to myself when the first set of trolling started earlier this month. It’s an awful person, that’s all I can say.
-
Yeah things are definitely getting fishy/weird. Rejections never come on the same day as acceptances, and the confirmation email from Princeton explicitly said results will be emailed.
-
Could someone actually really do this?
-
Given the gradcafe pattern, it’s usually all in one day. Last year was the exception, I believe it was two days.

As another week of decisions starts in just a few hours (and February, when a lot of decisions are released, is soon coming as well), I want to wish you all best of luck! It’s really comforting to know that I’m not alone in this process and journey and that there are so many people I can reach out to. I also want to remind you to make sure to put yourself first and do whatever you can to minimize your anxieties and stress. I know that whatever happens all of you amazing and brilliant people have great things ahead, and I really hope that we can continue to share great news on this platform!

Yes!! I actually now leave my phone in different rooms so I can’t keep checking my email. Been trying to stay busy with painting, watching movies, spending time with my family etc. Definitely recommend keeping busy so you don’t feel as anxious. I am sure you will get good news soon enough! Good luck with your thesis! Edit: if anyone has good movie suggestions... Pleaaaase come through haha I particularly like thrillers/horrors (not the gory kind) and comedies.
-
Yes, that’s true. But they also mentioned that it is grouped by department within the entire graduate school. So hopefully that means our hunches are correct and our department will send the decision earlier than later, like usual.
-
I definitely think so. I’ve only applied to one of those, but I am anticipating decisions end of next week.
-
I’m not too sure if it would make difference as initial reviews of applications would have started at basically every uni, and I know that they say they don’t accept materials after the review starts. If it makes you more comfortable, you can still try for your own peace of mind.
