  1. I'm in the same boat. I have one acceptance, and I accepted it because it was my top choice. Maybe that was too eager of me. But then I unexpectedly got an interview from a program ranked even higher, though my PI options aren't too flexible there. Although my gut feeling tells me that I'll end up finally going with my first choice anyway, I still think it would've been better if I had waited. I don't like the idea of being that person who accepts an offer and then rejects it later. So I believe that it's right of you to wait it out. And it's only a matter of one week. I hope you get more clarity after the second institute's interview day. All the best with your decision making process!
  2. hi! are you sure you saw a clinical acceptance? because I posted about my acceptance in counseling phd (yay) and i'm just making sure it didn't get miscommunicated.
  3. Oh, I don't know about that. Counseling girl through and through. Good luck, though!
  4. Me! I haven't heard anything and assumed a rejection, tbh. Because I saw on the results page someone had posted that they got a "Generic rejection email. Also says no more interview invites will go out."
  5. School: University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign (UIUC) Type: Counseling Psychology PhD Date of invite: 1/25/2021 Type of invite: Email from POI Interview date(s): 2/15 DM for POI: Yes
  6. Also, anyone hear from University of Minnesota - Twin Cities? I work in a research lab there and the doctoral student I work with mentioned that UMN has started interviewing this year. But anyone know specifically about counseling PhD program?
  7. I haven't heard anything from Lehigh nor UTK. I heard about UTK's interview invites, too. So I'm assuming that as a rejection for now.
  8. I've also applied to UMN counseling PhD. UMN's breaks usually get over a week later than other programs. I work in a research lab there, and UMN will start functioning from 19th(Tuesday). I am assuming that they will start communicating after that.
  9. That's great to hear! Gives us some hope during this season of freaking out. Thank you.
  10. Same as @frazyfar! 11. I have, I got a rejection from SUNY Albany for Counseling PhD. Hope that helps!
  12. In my case, it's important for me to at least reach the US (I'm in India) post-bac. So I will be taking on a masters program if all my PhD programs lead to rejections. It's extremely expensive to earn/have saved in INR and spend in USD, so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I have some expectations from a couple of programs that I am already affiliated with. I hope to hear back soon, the wait is quite nerve-racking.
  13. I've got an interview invite from Purdue (Lafayette) Counseling PhD, their interview day is Jan 15 and I am very hopeful to go for this program, it fits very well with what I want. Naturally, I'm quite nervous, it's my first interview ever. Any tips and tricks from someone who's been through the interview process (now and/or before)?
