  1. No news from ND, NW, JHU for me. :? Should I break down and call TAMU for my admissions status? They've sent the decision by post anyway but the waiting is unbearable. There was an acceptance from Marquette's MA program in International Affairs though. Now if they provide a RA, given my current list of acceptances, I would be tempted to go there. They have a reputation for sending students to Top PhD programs I believe?
  2. Sure dude. I'm in Asia and I believe it will be a week more at least before I get it.
  3. I'm totally in dark about TAMU. They have mailed the postal letter on 2/19 according to their website but I haven't got any informal communique such as an e-mail from the department, which is probably not a good sign. I see ND has started notifying. But are they done? My status page is just the same as before. EDIT: Interesting. there's a poster 'sonnyday' who seems to have been waitlisted at JHU. Are we missing something?
  4. I don't think ND and JHU have started notifying. Northwestern is interesting though. Are they through? If they are, where are the rejections? I don't see one yet on the results page.
  5. I applied there for the MA program. It's one of my fallback options if I don't get in anywhere with decent funding (not that Northeastern's MA program funds everyone). They have a PhD program too but I don't think it's ranked even in the Top 100. If they're letting you apply for the PhD program after their deadline has passed then it's certainly not a good indicator of it's reputation and value in the job market and academia.
  6. The 2 week long admissions blizzard begins. Hold on to your seats folks.
  7. That's quite interesting. Thanks for sharing. I believe they have sent my official letter last thursday/friday. I am not in the US and it may take a few weeks to receive the letter. I haven't got any e-mail yet although the "following monday" hasn't arrived yet either. I am pessimistic but your post sure upped my hopes.
  8. I have no idea. My transcripts came way past the deadline and all the while my status page stated that my file has not been forwarded to the department. I called them up and sure enough the department has received the transcripts but just haven't updated my status. Then kaboom and there was this new status I saw today. Maybe they are still evaluating your file?
  9. My TAMU application page says this. Political Science has returned your application to our office with an admissions decision on 2/19/2009, and we will communicate this decision via postal mail as long as you have paid the application fee. I suspect applicants who got admitted get an e-mail or a phone call before the official postal mail. Is it not so? Looks like TAMU ditched me. Oh well. :|
  10. Accepted at Purdue (funding decision to come with the official mail). Rounded up my safety schools. Now waiting for the longshots.
  11. Hey, thanks man! Please do ask and keep us posted.
  12. Me too. Maybe they haven't notified everyone yet? I find it hard to believe that more people from this forum didn't get into NW.
  13. Yeah, man. That's what keeping me from changing my signature.
  14. I've given up hope on Chicago and I'm very pessimistic about NWU. Maybe I should give up on TAMU as well? I'm tempted to add more schools in the 'reject' list of my signature.
  15. When is their visit date? Maybe there's hope yet.
  16. Lots of Emory rejections coming in (that includes me, got an automated mail) at the results page. Today's their dumping day.
  17. Cheers! Congratulations.
  18. Thanks. I'm sure the admissions gods will shine on you. I was half-expecting this one as my undergrad grades are terrible, especially math grades and Emory is one of the more quantitatively focused programs, I believe? Well, for me, this rejection sounds warning bells for JHU, NWU and UChicago (which is a goner already) at least.
  19. First rejection. Emory. Got an e-mail from the admissions director. I was high on this one. So hurts a bit.
  20. Exactly my thoughts.
  21. True. But I guess we still have hope. Mayhaps they have notified the 'top' applicants.
  22. I don't see why. They have an entering class of 15 to 20. They will give out admits to about 45 people, give or take a few, I guess.
  23. There's a Northwestern acceptance and a rejection up on the results page. The rejection poster stated the e-mail was received on 12th February. Maybe we have survived the first round of rejection?
