  1. I got my first interview invite from Penn State University! I'm really happy but honestly I feel more pressure than when I was waiting to hear back from them. Does anyone know, in general, what % of candidates get final offers after interviews?
  2. I heard the earliest is end of Feb for the results!!
  3. I heard UBC has received less applications this year compared to previous years. Has anyone heard something like this about UofT?
  4. not yet... I'm being fried here from anxiety.....
  5. Has anyone applied to Penn State (PSU) M.Ed in Counselling Education here? Or anyone who has previously applied to this school?
  6. Thank you! Good luck to you too I applied to MEd. what about you?
  7. Hi there! I applied to ubc!
  8. Sorry to hear that. I hope it turns out well Could you share the interview questions you were asked? I have no idea what to expect from an interview for a non-thesis program
  9. I found a typo on my personal statement which I submitted to U of T. It was a super dumb typo (wrote Stanford “Sandford”) plus a small grammar mistake. Do you think this will have a negative impact on the decision they are gonna make?
  10. Congratulations for the invitation for an interview! (You are halfway there!) how did it go?? Would you be able to share your interview experience?!
  11. I know OISE had around 600 applicants and accepted around 35 students last year
  12. Thank you!!! Many of the interview questions I can find on the internet are mostly research/thesis-related. The program I applied to is a non-thesis program so I am not sure what kind of questions I should be expecting... do you have any advice on this too?
  13. I applied to M.Ed Counselling programs in four schools this year and one of them has an interview as the admission process. This will be my first grad school interview in my life if I get invited. I would love to hear some advice for this. I would really appreciate if anyone could share some examples of possible interview questions too. (the school I might be having interview is Penn State University)
  14. Hi all I applied to Penn State University M.Ed Counselling program this year. I barely see posts about this so was wondering if anyone who has applied to this program previously or this year would want to connect here. I'm very anxious about the interview..
  15. Thank you @Samantha123 I hope you all the best this year with UVic!
  16. Hi @Happiness is key! I contacted UofT and they told me they do not require updated transcripts hope this helps! let's keep in touch! EDIT: I am also a fourth year applicant and I would love to hear answers to your question regarding the chance getting into the program as a graduating student.
  17. Hi @mmckenzie I applied to UBC M.Ed Counselling this year. It seems to be rare to see applicants for schools in BC in this forum. I would like to connect with you, if you don't mind. Please let me know
  18. Hi @Edge98 thanks for your comment! yeah, that's so true. I guess everyone still gets really anxious knowing this.... lol BTW, I heard that UofT does not require an interview (the decisions are made only based on the documents we have submitted). Is that true?
  19. @Toughcook1eI’m glad to hear that you are trying again this year! I wish you the best luck Would you mind sharing your gpa and work experiences here? I looked at some posts from last year and a few with gpa/work experiences far more stronger than mine said they didn’t get an offer. I don’t have much work experiences like them nor a good gpa so i’m so anxious. In case you might be interested too, mine looks like this: - I graduated from my undergrad at UBC last December. - 5 months RA at M.Ed counselling psychology department at a small college in the states - 3 years volunteer/community involvement at a nonprofit organization to support homeless population - 8 months clinical counselling internship student experience at a rehabilitation clinic (still employed with 1 year contract) - upper years GPA: 3.31 (76%) - final year GPA: 3.93 (84.5%) - plus a certification course (addictions and recovery course) at Stanford University with 89% final grade
  20. @Toughcook1ethank you! Did you get the offer? If I may ask??
  21. When should I be expecting to hear back from them with the decisions?
  22. I applied to M.Ed counselling program at UBC and UofT this year. I looked at some posts from last year’s applicants. A few with GPA/work experiences far more stronger than mine said that they didn’t get an offer. I don’t have much work experiences like them nor a good gpa, so i’m VERY VERY worried. Plus, UBC told me that they will be accepting fewer students this year, making me even more anxious. Would anyone here who’ve applied to one of these schools this year would want to share what their WE/GPA looks like? mine looks like this: - 5 months RA at M.Ed counselling psychology department at a small college in the states - 3 years volunteer/community involvement at a nonprofit organization to support homeless population - 8 months clinical counselling internship student experience at a rehabilitation clinic (still employed with 1 year contract) - upper years GPA: 3.31 (76%) - final year GPA: 3.93 (84.5%) plus a certification course (addictions and recovery course) at Stanford University note: % to gpa was converted by referring to UBC’s website
