  1. For those with CPL and other fellowships who are receiving grants or stipends, did your grant/stipend show up in your MYFAID portal? I can only see my tuition support, but not anything else. Curious to know if that comes later.
  2. No idea, but I imagine classes will still have a hybrid zoom option to them for at least the Fall semester which means they could up the class size. Although they are still limited by TAs...who knows.
  3. They just said it generally to the whole group, but it sounds like it was hyper competitive across the board.
  4. In the admitted students event they had this week, one of the administrators said it was the most competitive year HKS had ever had. I think between the influx of applications due to COVID (lack of job opportunities, sudden ability to move, etc) and the deferrals from 2020 made this a really tough year.
  5. I did!! Very excited about it. I hope my seat goes to one of you here, and I hope you really enjoy your time at Goldman! Such a great program and environment.
  6. Echoing GradSchoolGrad, if you want good intersection with the public health folks, Columbia has an excellent MPH program and they are very forward facing. Lots of opportunities to intersect with them at SIPA. Just an addition to your thought process as a Columbia alum!
  7. Has anyone received notice of CPL fellowship awards? My financial aid came through the portal, but no mention of acceptance/denial for my CPL fellowship I was a finalist for.
  8. I absolutely cannot believe that we predicted this because someone updated the MYFAID contact box. What a world.
  9. No news on funding either. Any word from CPL fellowships? I was a finalist, wondering if those decisions will come today too.
  10. WE DID IT BOYS AND GIRLS!!! IM GOING TO HARVARD!!!
  11. Wow Billy with the good intel. Nice catch.
  12. I'm in school as we speak, and the administrative side of my university has completely fallen off during COVID. People are working from home, communication spread is harder to manage, people are generally more stressed, etc. Add on the extra applicants this year, and it's completely reasonable to have the admissions blog posts fall by the wayside.
  13. Whoever updated that MYFAID contact box is directly responsible for my lack of productivity today.
  14. Live by the Matt, die by the Matt
  15. I used to wonder how people fall into Qanon traps on the internet until I started reading this forum. Now I am putting all my faith into a guy named "MPPapplicant69" and his unverified sources.
  16. The level of neuroticism on this thread is off the charts, and I absolutely love it. We are in this together!! If it isn't today, it will be soon!!!
  17. Them updating the portal is only indicative that they will release decisions soon, which could mean today or next week. Lets hope it is today though!
  18. How are you guys logging into the College Board Net Partner site? When I click on my advisor on the MYFAID page, i cant log in with those same credentials. How are you seeing appointment times?
  19. Let me be the first to tell you, it is absolutely more expensive in every way. That being said, NYC is an incredible place to both study and live. There is a feeling and spirit to the city that is incomparable with any other. Amazing place...but very expensive.
  20. They continuously stated that the deferrals from 2020 would not affect decisions for 2021, but I just do not see how that could be possible. I suppose they could increase the overall class size with the expectation that some international students may have to do the first year remotely, and could accommodate more students by combining zoom and in-person instruction.
  21. Would love to know how the SIPA and Berkeley Goldman MPP curriculums compare, specifically to post-graduation job markets. I know Goldman is quant heavy in both econ and data analysis, and both are very strong academically. I have my Bachelors from Columbia so I am leaning towards Berkeley for the added network. Any input from those knowledgeable would be much appreciated!
  22. I am a current Columbia undergrad student, so I can provide a little insight on this. This is only hourly paid grad students and PhD students striking, not any administrators that would be working on admissions for SIPA. It could, possibly, affect some administrative stuff if some hourly workers are gone in the office, but I very much doubt it would push a decision date back. It is a pretty wild strike though. Many classes are cancelled and a lot of classes have no TAs. Most professors are going to be pretty miffed about having to grade 200 final papers themselves.
  23. It was 154. I do have an undergrad focus in poly sci research, and a quant undergraduate thesis with multivariate regression models.
  24. For those waitlisted, there is still hope! This is a tough time financially for most students, and there will be quite a few (unfortunately) that choose not to go because of anemic financial aid packages. Harvard Kennedy School has also not released their admissions yet so there will be seats that open up! I got admitted to Goldman last night, but my seat will open up if I am lucky enough to get into HKS. Have hope!! Congratulations to everyone who made it in!
  25. Got accepted into Berkeley Goldman MPP program last night! Really gave me some optimism for my HKS chances, especially considering Goldman is such a quant heavy program and my GRE quant score was not very impressive. We are almost there, guys!
