  1. Interesting. I was asked if I also came with scholarships though or funding to conduct further research
  2. Yes agreed - also largely dependent on whether your chosen supervisors have space/funding to take you on and from my interview, it seemed important that the research is aligned to the POI. Also I got the impression that even if the professor would nominate you, it depends on what the department says? I didn't understand what they meant be this and wish I asked more. Assume funding??

  4. Hi @Jeanne A. I just wanted to day that you did the hard part, submitting the application. What happens, happens. Results might be Friday but also could be a few weeks away, so regardless of the waiting and anxiety, give yourself a clap (or what I love to do, play your favourite songs and dance it out) for doing the hard part (the only part you could control). Focus your attention on congratulating yourself for being brave enough to have applied and for throwing yourself out there. I also disagree that not having an interview will affect your chances. I think it is also important to remember that even if the outcome isn't great, we can apply next year after some more learning and growing, or the year after. I hope you manage to sleep okay and take care of yourself. Also to add, this is my second application to the department. First rejection sucked but even it is a no again - that's ok.
  5. Just saw this from someone else who had an interview ? might be different pathways but hopefully it's sooner versus later
  6. The sooner the better in my opinion hate the waiting! The interview was only two weeks ago and it ended with being told that there were many applicants left to consider - so perhaps. Will keep checking this thread/results board ?
  7. Totally the same ? Would we just receive an email with an update? I read on the results board people got calls in 2019 but I imagine it is emails only this year?
  8. Hi there what is the 2-5 days based on? Did the department mention this or is it based on last year's results on gradcafe? I'm surprised (but love!) that it is so soon since I was told in the interview they received more applications than ever and it will take a while to process (but that I will hear by March). Best of luck with your application ❣️
  9. Wow! so soon. Good luck everyone ❣️
  10. PhD and hello*
  11. True - I was told I'd hear back by March but I see we may all hear sooner!
  12. DAPS
  13. Thank you! Best of luck to you too (and everyone ❣️) Education PhD.
  14. I just read through this and I assumed we would hear back in March but next week feels unnerving! I was emailed directly for an interview a few weeks ago but I don't think it went well, so we'll see. The professor just wanted to check if we would be a good fit since other people sent her my application (I did not originally list her).
  15. Also rejected. They say 80 applicants per application. Last year it was 75 per application. We did good for trying though. Fortune favors the bold?
  16. I would argue even more applications this year even
  17. They received 10000s of applications this year, with no GRE requirements for many departments. Whatever happens, happens.
  18. Good luck everybody. When do we find out? Just anytime tomorrow?
  19. Q - does anyone know what the likelihood of being admitted to the grad program is, if you've been selected for the immersion weekend
  20. best of luck everyone and you're absolutely right op ^
  21. I think they filtered it down last year to 140 applicants for the Immersion and then 70/80 places ?
