  1. I was actually making the same decision recently and I chose GC because I felt that my research aligned more with the faculty expertise there. I am interested in urban sociology and spatial inequality. Funding may seem uncertain right now but if the director is confident something will come through for you I would wait it out. As for your experience in the program I don't know much about Rutgers. I would reach out to students who are currently studying there. I'm not sure when this professor was going to Rutgers but I assume that things might be different from when they were a student. Another reason I chose GC is because I've been there a few times for events and I can tell that the students are all very friendly and supportive of each other. I'm not looking for a super competitive environment so that definitely left an impression on me and made me want to apply. I'm not sure what the culture is like at Rutgers so I can't speak to that. Anyway, I hope this was helpful!
  2. @Elsie1922 I'm not sure. It is possible. This admission cycle is so weird I can't say with certainty what is going to happen. Wishing you all the best! Hopefully those who have not heard will hear back soon. The wait is really tough and I'm really rooting for y'all.
  3. That's awesome! Michigan is a great school! I also received an email this morning from CUNY that I was admitted!! I am very excited!!
  4. Not sure if it's the same situation for you all but I think being quarantined and just being home all day is exacerbating the anxiety about admissions. I was for sure anxious about admissions for undergrad and my masters program but not at all in the same way. I guess being in the outside world was a big distraction but now I do everything from home and there is no separation happening.
  5. Thanks for making this! My god this sucks haha. Same as most of you - I had two interviews, received an email last week, still waiting. I have been accepted to two other schools but my funding pending. I'm currently living in NYC and I know it's going to be rough on a grad student stipend. If I end up at CUNY I will probably find some part-time work.
  6. I was told that UCR's committee is still reviewing applications. They were supposed to be finished this week but who knows when we will actually find out. Best of luck!
  7. Thank you!! No, I was not.
  8. Yes, I was accepted! I'm not sure about their process of sending out acceptances. Still waiting for funding info.
  9. I just received an email from the Graduate Program Assistant. They are still reviewing applications and should be done next week. However, not sure if that means we'll hear from them next week. It seems like the process for sending out decisions is a bit longer this year.
  10. Hey y'all! Congrats to those who have received acceptances. For those who are still waiting or waitlisted, like myself, I'm sending positive vibes and good thoughts! I am wondering if anyone applied to UC Davis, Riverside, or San Diego? Is anyone familiar with admission procedures or have any news about when prospective students might hear back? Thanks!
  11. Thank you for sharing this! I made a profile to see if I could get further information on this. That USC admit post threw me off haha.
