Thanks! No, I'm not aware of anything specific. I don't think anyone can say for sure at this point. I know most are hopeful to have in person learning in the fall, but it'll ultimately depend on how COVID develops...Trying to stay positive! -

Thanks! I applied to both. In the US, I applied mainly to Italian departments, where I could specialize in FMS. With COVID, options were limited this year, so I tried to apply to a handful of programs where I thought I could carry out an interdisciplinary course of study. I applied to more FMS/Screen Studies programs in Europe, specifically programs that emphasized film criticism and theory. What are your main interests? -

Thank you! And, yes I completed my MA in 2020 in Italian Studies with a specialization in Film and Media Studies. I have one publication and participated at a few conferences. If you want more specific details about my profile or FMS in general etc., feel free to send me a PM! It's a tough process waiting, especially this year. On the bright side, it seems like the majority of admissions decisions go out in February. -

Hey everyone, it's nice to see a FMS thread. I saw some people have asked about Yale for the combined PhD program. I will be attending (hopefully in person) this fall. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! FYI: My department is Italian Studies. -
Ciao--I also received an interview invitation in early January at NYU. I have since received an offer at my first choice program and decided to withdraw my other applications, including NYU. I'm not sure where they are in their process, but they have one less application to deal with now. I hope this helps and that you hear some good news soon.
