Yes, it's just very strange there have been no waitlists or rejections yet either. Plus, many of the people in Draft are experienced and talented people who have applied multiple times, so what are the odds none of them got accepted or waitlisted?

Ew, there are people out there who have lives outside of stressing online? It just feels weird that if there were 200 applicants and 6 chosen, none would be online. But I'm grasping for straws, alas

I am really wondering what is going on with Michener poetry. Radio silence aside from an acceptance that seems like it could have been improperly entered? Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but it feels like acceptances have not gone out yet? (Hoping to keep the dream alive but I would also just like my rejection now if that is the case so I can stop wondering!)

I am down for a poetry zoom too! As acceptances are up in the air, I'm starting to realize I might not have been ready this year and still need to workshop my work a little bit more. Also, nervous wreck over Michener...I need info now

Just want to confirm so I can stop stressing over this weekend - it's safe to say U Washington Poetry calls have all been made right? It's been a few days since the first applicant was accepted and the other writers likely just aren't here or on Draft, right?

I am wondering the same...there seems to be no other mention of anything regarding acceptances, rejections, or waitlists. My running theory is that perhaps they called their top candidate/the candidate who they were giving the most funding to before everybody else? The person who was accepted seems like a wonderfully talented person

My heart dropped when I saw that too. I am also in the same boat as those of you who are unemployed and hoping that grad school could add purpose and an end to the perpetual nothingness. I'm hoping there is some crazy chance they aren't calling everyone today (weird of them to start at 5pm PST) or maybe letting people know about waitlists later. At this stage I'm pretty hopeless. Doesn't help to look at the work of those getting multiple acceptances and know its worlds above your own

One of my letter writers got his poetry MFA at Brown in I think the 90s? And he was very encouraging but something about it just seems impossible. Never say never though, I guess! Thankful my letter writers believed in me at least

I am a little too obsessed with two of my schools - It's gotten to the point where I'll imagine what it feels like to get in, what I would tell my friends and family etc. and then I have to bring myself down to reality because I know that kind of thinking would make a rejection hurt more. Conversely, does anyone have any schools that they for some reason cannot picture themselves getting into at all? For me that's Brown. It just feels....too prestigious. Plus asking for 15 pages vs 10 like the others really threw me

Such a good point, thank you. Plus, I guess if I were to miraculously get accepted there, I would have someone with a common past to befriend and share my thoughts with. Also, I think this is my sign to drop the internet program stalking until at least March

I have a stress question that some of you might find ridiculous, so bear with me. I was doing some research on one of my top choice programs, and I just realized that somebody at this program currently is from my tiny small town with pretty much an identical background to me (from location of undergrad, to genre, to application timeline.) Do you think this would be detrimental to my application? I'm worried they might look at my writing and say "eh, we already have someone like this" and dump me out. But also I might be going insane with worry. Thanks guys ?

I am from Monmouth county! Without disclosing where exactly I will say the most obnoxious town in the county. I could write an entire poetry book about why I left and want as much distance from there as possible...hoping a program accepts me so they can guide me in how to write it haha
