Two admissions is nothing to sneeze at! And while it's fine to change your research interests in grad school, don't do it just because you weren't the right fit for other schools. You might be able to pursue those interests at the programs you're admitted to--indeed, they may be excited for you to do so! There's so much that goes into an admit decision and so much of it is beyond your control that I would urge you not to give up something you're interested in. 

N=1 but I cannot recommend Magoosh enough. I was plateauing around the mid-160s (quant) and after a couple months of Magoosh videos and exercises I nailed a perfect score! The exercises are actually a bit more difficult than the real thing, which I think is good since it gave me a cushion (particularly in terms of time management).

I plan to be back next year! I'm looking into one year Master's programs and I'm contacting the professor I'm doing research for to see if I can stay on full time after I graduate with this first Master's degree. I'm glad a number of people felt my presence was a positive one; if I was able to bolster the morale of even a few of you than I'm happy to have helped. 

Cabin fever because of snow + pandemic restrictions + grad app stress is a hell of a combination.

I just wanna say that there are also plenty of IR programs and Theory programs (in the US and otherwise) that may offer what you're looking for! Don't force yourself to learn quant if it's not your interest. On the other hand, it could be.
 It took me a couple application cycles to really identify fit as well, since I don't fall into what is considered traditional/popular areas of research in political science. I'd start by talking with professors you admire and looking up where they went to school.

If it were ok (I dont know if this is the place to ask), _nutella_ and polisci123_1, can I ask what do yo think was your biggest strength when applying? I am hoping to reapply next year to NYU, its been my dream school for quite a while. I hope this is not a bother!

Good luck!! It actually is not easier to get PhD funding at LSE, but it's a good sign if you haven't heard from them yet. It likely means you are being considered by the funding panels because they meet in February!

I should say my interview wasn't exactly formal. The POI said it was a "meeting to discuss UCR"
