  1. Hey guys! This is kind of a specific question but are there any past/current MPH Epi students at UofT here that could tell me about types of funding available? I know there's OGS but it only covers 2-3 terms and apparently you don't receive the full amount. I'm not sure how it works but if anyone else does, please let me know! I'm relying on/hoping for scholarships because otherwise there seems to be 0 funding, unlike in MSc programs ? Thanks!
  2. Yes, it's my top choice
  3. Thank you!! 11:13pm
  4. Just got accepted to the MPH Epidemiology program at UofT!
  5. Yeah, that should be okay-- they look at your GPA from your last 20 classes (I think they calculate each course as 0.5 credits so that's 10 credits). Ideally they want your most recent marks, so I'm guessing they'll be asking for an updated/final transcript for those who are graduating in spring 2021.
  6. Not yet! They send out acceptances/rejections any time between Mar-June!
  7. Hey guys! Does anyone have any knowledge about OGS scholarships at DLSPH at UofT? How many are given out each year/how competitive is it?
  8. Thank you for the support! I wish you good luck too
  9. Thank you for the support! Wow awesome, congrats on your acceptance!
  10. Hi everyone, I applied to the MPH Epidemiology program at UofT for Fall 2021. A bit about me: 4th year Canadian BSc Neuroscience student, GPA: 4.0/4.0 Research experience: Currently working on honours thesis investigating impacts of COVID-19 on undergraduate mental health, 2 years as a research assistant in a psychology lab; proficient in SPSS Statistics software Volunteer experience: various clubs at my university (Neuroscience Students' Association as an outreach executive and peer mentor, Students Offering Support business development team member responsible for fundraising for educational/COVID PPE supplies to Guatemalan students) Work experience: pharmacy assistant (related to public health?), other jobs within my university (teaching assistant in psychology dept, exam proctor) Stats requirement: took 2 stats classes (statistics for the sciences, advanced statistics) and finished both with 100% Due to the pandemic, I couldn't shadow an epidemiologist at my local health unit or continue with my hospital volunteering placement. I fear that my lack of experience in public health might compromise my chances of getting accepted. Thoughts? Thanks!
