  1. Are there any funded MFA programs in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, or other urbanish yet coastal parts of CA (San Diego, Santa Cruz, etc.)? I only found UCSD in my search, and the class size made me feel like getting in would be basically impossible. I want to have my MFA cake and eat my California cake too. Is it possible? Another way of looking the question: what are the "best" MFA programs in CA?
  2. I applied to MFAs a couple years ago and had no idea about this forum or Draft. I think I may have been less compulsive and more chill about the experience back then. My loved ones are urging me to stay away from these sites
  3. Re: University of Washington, I can't speak for this year, but several years ago, I wasn't notified of rejection until mid-April. Someone I emailed at that time said that they weren't denying anyone until they had their class full (all offers accepted), and that accepted students had until the April 15th deadline to respond to offers. They said some years it goes faster than others.
  4. In the middle of the night I woke up ecstatic after a very realistic dream about getting an acceptance call from UW. And then I realized twas only a dream. I also had a dream about a month ago that I got a big fat acceptance letter in the mail from UW, but when I opened it up it said "Dear [Not my name]," Looking forward to reclaiming my dreamspace soon.
  5. Hi all. Sending solidarity to every person refreshing their emails every five minutes. I'm with you! I have 2/4 decisions back. Both rejections from University of Oregon (Feb 15) and UBC Vancouver (Feb 16). Still waiting on the University of Washington & Montana. I'm starting to imagine applying again in the fall if there are no offers. The part that makes me most uncomfortable about another cycle is the references. I am not in regular touch with them, and I'd hate to come knocking at their door for the third time (I also applied a few years ago). I have their letters in Interfolio. Does anyone know whether you can re-use a letter from year to year without updating it? That would be very convenient.
