It's usually after 4:00 PM...this summer it was around 4:45 if I remember correctly.

I think for all those who applied to HGSE, we all have some sort of confidence already in the work that we do and are people who strives to achieve more. I have some degree of confidence as well but definitely still very very doubtful. Getting accepted to Harvard seems like such a vague and over-reaching idea to me, but it's worth a try. I think everyone who are already on this thread engaging in conversations are, to some degree, above average because we care so much that we want to engage with others potentially gonna be in the cohort and figure out our chances of being admitted even after submission. Therefore, like you said, because we cared so much, we probably put more effort into the application, which hopefully will convince the admissions. I know I will probably be very disappointed if I am rejected but I just have to remind myself that at the end of the day, it's just an application, which does not have the ability to showcase everything that I do for the admissions to get to know me. I am also very anxious, especially this week, but I kept on telling myself that even if I am rejected, the work that I do and what I want to do in the future is still meaningful and valid.
Hope this can relieve some anxiety for everyone. We should already be very proud of ourselves to have taken the step to pursue to achieve more.

    Hello everyone!
What a diverse group of people! Felt quite relieved seeing how y’all are also panicking haha. I’ve applied for the EPA program and was quite surprised to see that not too many peeps have opted for it (at least who’re here).

I wanted to know if everyone’s application still displayed “submitted” and not “under consideration”. Will be quite bummed if it’s the latter :/

Hey everyone, I was wondering how many people in this thread applied to the master's program without much experience directly from undergrad? I have decent academic background but I am a bit afraid that my lack of professional and full time experience might earn me a rejection

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely give it a try if we don't hear back from Harvard this Friday.

Good Idea! Here are my stats:
    School: Vanderbilt Peabody
GPA: 3.5ish/4 Human and Organizational Development (had rly low GPA for sophomore year but pulled it up later on)
    GRE: V: 161, Q: 157, W: 5.0
    Experiences/Activities:
    - A few internships in education and technology related companies
    - I’m applying straight out of college as well but I tried to find internships and work every summer and winter break
    - Took a gap year in Europe researching foreign language acquisition process
LOR: 2 professors, 1 from work
(Prolly won't be admitted due to inconsistent GPA. Also, I found out that I made several stupid grammatical errors in my essay after submission so...yeah...)

For my fellow ELOE applicants, do you all wanna share your stats? Here’s mine:
    School: top 25 US private
GPA: 3.8/4 with double major in PR and history
    GRE: N/A
    Extracurriculars:
    - I founded a university consulting startup half a year ago, which isn’t very long ago I guess.

    - I’m applying straight out of college but I’ve had a lot of PR-related internships, no full time job
    - I do education social media blogging where I teach English to speakers of other languages. Followers of 300k+ (Idk if this is a plus in the eyes of admission officers, or if it’s just something random)
    - I’m a licensed piano teacher so I’ve been teaching piano for several years.
    LOR: 3 profs

Hi @CaitlynM While it is possible it could be different his year for HGSE (and with COVID, I guess anything is possible), I just went back and checked though the old HGSE threads here on GradCafe and confirmed that it has been the 1st Friday in March every year since March 2013. Fingers crossed HGSE keeps up the same timeline for sending out decisions.

How certain is it that we will hear decisions the first Friday in March??? I know that has been HGSE's general trend, but I am not sure if that is only for PhD applicants or for Master's, as well. Everything is so vague!

I graduate from HGSE SLP in 2017. I was very active on the HGSE 2016 and 2017 threads. Here is my statement of purpose for anyone to consult. Here is some admissions data I mined from the many years of HGSE threads on this forum. If these documents are helpful to you, please give me an upvote so that I will know all the hours that I spent will have been worthwhile in helping myself and others achieve our dreams.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.

For those worried about how they'll pay back tuition at the Ed School, there's always the chance you'll find Mr. Right at the Med, Law or Business School. Guys from all three definitely crash the HGSE parties on a regular basis because they know dropping the HBS, HLS, HMS bomb is sure to impress. HGSE guys stay complaining about dudes from other schools poaching on their territory.

Mine was "fell" where I meant "feel"... truly so embarrassing. But hopefully they FEEL the sentiment.

    Speaking of the GRE!
I was admitted and enrolled to the EdM program last year (higher ed) and decided to forfeit my enrollment for covid reasons. I’m planning to reapply this cycle, and I’m wondering if I should include my GRE in the reapplication process. My verbal and quant were fine (161 V, 157Q), but my writing was only a 4.0. It was obviously fine enough for me to be admitted once, but I’m nervous that fewer students submitting GREs will mean they are looking for higher scores. Thoughts?
