Hey everyone!
I'm a first year student at uOttawa (maîtrise en orthophonie), and I know last year there was a significant lack of resources and information about our uni. So if anyone has any questions about this institution and program feel free to reach out.
Best of luck

Congratulations! Did you get an email from them?
Email came after my uoZone update. My status changed last friday from "Waiting List" to "Under Evaluation". Then the status disappeared altogether Tuesday! I emailed to inquire and then the next day I got admitted

I just got off of uOttawa's waitlist so I will be declining Western! Best of luck

There has been some movement on the uOttawa waitlist! I just got in yesterday morning and will be accepting. Will be declining Western, ultimately!

Got rejected from UofT and waitlisted for Ottawa! I cannot believe the grueling wait has passed. Now onto decision making. Best of luck everyone!

I got accepted to Western! So great to hear! Haven't heard anything from Toronto, so I am assuming that means no. Congratulations everyone, and I know those who are disappointed are some of the best SLPs there'll ever be ❤️

Congrats, that's awesome! Do you mind if I ask whether you applied for the thesis one or not? I'm curious if that might affect the order they send them out in. Also thanks for saying Dal is asking for a response by April 15th as well, that definitely makes me suspect they'll send the rest in the next little bit as well!
I did not apply to the thesis one! Though this reply had me going through all of my documentation to make sure I submitted the correct application, lol

Does anyone else's portal for Dalhousie still not show them as having all of your documents? They sent an email to me a while back saying everything was approved and sent along, but it hasn't actually been updated on the application portal as being received.
Mine also says not all documents have been received and I had my admission letter sent out. Also to note - they say response by April 15th just like the other schools so I would imagine all of their communiqué will happen soon

Not super relevant right now, but I just went to Dal's website to check something else and they've already updated it for the 2022 admissions cycle, and starting next year they won't require the GRE anymore. Just thought this was interesting and wanted to point it out, in case anyone here will be applying there next year as well!
It also makes me wonder if they don't put high value on it this year, although that's just me pondering something and obviously isn't actual information.
Find it here -> https://www.dal.ca/faculty/health/scsd/scsd-admissions-info/scsd-frequently-asked-questions.html
Right? I saw this yesterday and my bank account cried out after spending so much on GRE and its prep! I'm also on the opposition of standardized tests so I'm thrilled to see it go away as an admission standard for schools like Dal.

Dal has not specified to my knowledge and has historically been all over the map. Last year they sent out some acceptances with no prior word after april 15, but hopefully that was just an adjusting-to-covid thing
They had something missing from my file the other day and they just broadly said "April" when I asked, haha.

I got accepted to McGill on Friday! Still in shock, really! Best of luck to everyone that is waiting - I know I am waiting on a lot of my higher choices by April 1st.
I know someone was asking about stats so, I have about a 3.7 cGPA, 50 hours of volunteer experience with SLP, research in language development, 3 years of teaching experience (left the profession to pursue SLP), and I'm fluently bilingual (BA French/Ling).
Best of luck to everyone that is applying to these schools. We will persevere!

I also find this a bit strange! Perhaps they're in the process of calling people as well, and that takes longer? I'm not sure. In the past they've typically done either acceptances first, or done acceptances and right after/almost simultaneously did waitlists and rejections. I've heard of schools sending out all 3 at the same time so all responses go out at once, but I've never heard of waitlists going first.
I haven't heard back yet, so I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad one ? either way, it means they've made their decisions so I imagine we'll find out soon enough
Oh my gosh. There goes all my concentration today ? best of luck everyone ?

Getting that email from Ottawa yesterday saying they had "exciting news", despite me knowing it will still be a few weeks to hear back, got my hopes up unnecessarily to only find their strategic plan for 2021 ?
