  1. People still holding out for the Max Bell school, how we doing? Anyone heard back from McGill in the last month, rejection/acceptance or otherwise?
  2. If I recall correctly, at the info webinars they said they'd let everyone know by April 15th. My partner was accepted last week with no funding and a deadline to respond of April 15th, which tells me they're going through the waitlist now as second-round funding offers were sent out three weeks ago. My guess is that on the 15th they'll either: (a) release a declines list and solidify those that have accepted up to that date as the class of 2021, or (b) review the list of those that declined offers up until the 15th, offer the according amount of spots to those next in line on the waitlist while giving them a week or so to respond, and then declining everyone else
  3. Good on you! Did you get any financial assistance?
  4. Thank you for the update! It's much appreciated. Do you intend to accept?
  5. Thanks for sharing that's actually super helpful! I'm so skeptical of many organizations actually providing opportunities for moving up/salary increases, so this is re-assuring. I just see diagonal moves to other companies rewarded much more, so it's good to see some companies actually making an effort in this regard
  6. Applied for the MPP, based in Toronto, Canada. Graduated from poli-sci from a mid-tier university however "ranking" of university doesn't matter as much because of our socialized education system, so all schools are generally on the same grade and an admissions officer in charge of reviewing Canadian candidates would know that. 2 years working for as a manager at an international affairs NGO/think tank, and a year working as an executive for my university student's union where I spearheaded the city's first transit U-Pass, meant to save students $80 million. A lot of extracurriculars on top, so I think I had a lot in the extracurricular/work/public service category + narrative. Strong LOR I believe, including one from a former ambassador and another from an HKS alumni. Academics were weaker: 3.3/4.3 but 3.6 in the last two years. Graduated this year though because I was completing school part-time while working full-time so maybe that played into it. No GRE submission due to a technical error on ETS' end when taking the test on the day prior to the deadline. My partner also applied for the MPP, and got the magazine but was rejected.
  7. Hey I'm also based in Toronto and was eyeing many of the same schools as you. Wondering how you've gotten into public sector consulting at that salary band without a master's degree? Mind if I DM you?
  8. Anyone else waiting on McGill? I think I saw someone accepted in the first round a month or so ago. Anyone heard back recently?
  9. Unlikely as this year's dates/deadlines, as well as postings to the HKS blog are following a delayed schedule compared to all previous years. Based on how this year's deadlines have corresponded to previous years so far, we're most likely looking at the 25th
  10. It's been mentioned and confirmed in the forums of previous years, and the email itself indicates that it should not be construed as an indication of acceptance. The only reason that would be the case is if everyone receives it.
  11. Earlier on this page, I mentioned I received the magazine while being in Canada
  12. My partner and I got our magazines today, we're based in Toronto, Canada. No fellowship interview invitations unfortunately
