  1. Ironically enough, I’m not a coffee drinker! A good cup of tea will do ? I’d be pursuing an advanced clinical track, ideally with a strong focus on trauma or elective options that allow the coursework to lean that way. I hope to see some of the prominent MSW programs throw their hat in the DSW ring. A part of me wonders if I should have opted for a phd-esque approach of reaching out to POIs before applying last cycle to build rapport and confirm that they’d be strong enough of a match to reference in my SOP. ? I plan to check in on this thread, especially as we get closer to those March deadlines. This is the last year for many of the pandemic GRE waivers so I’m hoping to see others use that to their advantage this application cycle.
  2. I had the random thought to check in on this forum today; it must have been my spidey senses perking up at the mention of a coffee gift card lol. ?☕️ I thought I was going to apply again this cycle but I’m feeling compelled to sit out this year. I think it may be attributed to wanting to see if any other programs emerge. My focus had narrowed onto Bama (again), University of Kentucky and SUNY Buffalo. I attended an info session on Buffalo and realized that it wouldn’t be the best fit for my interests, so I’m back down to two. It would be really nice to have another affordable R1 institution to seriously consider. Kentucky has multiple starting dates, which helps if my FOMO gets too strong later this year.
  3. I reached out, but no response yet ☹️. There was a general feedback offered in all the rejection letters last year re: SOP. I heard of some folks that got in.
  4. I keep forgetting about the name switch (lol)—hi!! ? And the list is generating. I’m going back for Bama for sure. Planning to add two more into the mix. Trying to figure out how I should change my SOP if everything still stands six months later lol.
  5. Thank you for making this thread! I’m preparing for round 2 of applications and I’m happy to have a space of other folks applying this cycle too!
  6. Congratulations!! Such wonderful news!! ???
  7. Thank you both! I’m taking a break from the process ? and will see how I feel about it in a few months. It’s a bummer that I have to wait a whole year to try again, but such is life!
  8. Well, Bama won’t be apart of my academic journey this year, but I appreciate sharing this virtual space with you all! Wishing everyone much success and happiness with their decisions!
  9. I’m wondering if that will be the case for these programs which are largely funded by the students. I can see staffing limitations being a factor. Did I see you mention previously you had some insight about how large Bama’s cohorts were? I think the first was 20...
  10. Yep! And I suspect they received a lot of apps this year! ?
  11. I have a few jobs already, but I’m still not as distracted as I’d like to be! Waiting another month+ is tough ?
  12. I’m happy you’re here! Always great to get insights from someone on the other side!
  13. Do you know specifically how many they have in each cohort? I believe the first was 20; not sure how many were admitted last year. And I totally agree about the tuition piece—that was such a great relief! The deadline was 3/1 and their online info says folks would be notified of their decisions in early May ?. Interviews are possible, but I don’t get the impression they’re required. ????
  14. Thanks EJM! ?? Another round of social work schooling is just what the doctor ordered lol.
