  1. Most students in Manitoba and SK go to North Dakota to Minot State University for SLP! Tuition is basically the same as Canada and their program is actually amazing. Downfall is that it's in ND and you have to do a post-bacc year (but it guarantees your acceptance into their SLP program the following year). If I didn't get into a Canadian school this past year I would have gone there. I think their tuition is actually the cheapest in the US! Feel free to message me if you have any questions
  2. Hi! I was accepted to UofA and UBC, and will be accepting UBC's offer! Good luck to those on UofA's waitlist!
  3. It wasn't too bad of a course and it's pretty quick - study lots! Make sure you do the additional learning activities because lots of that material is on the exam! Also I think the final is multiple choice from what I remember!
  4. Got into UBC! Now I'm conflicted between U of A and UBC...I like the idea of staying in BC for grad school but U of A arguably has a better program??
  5. Still waiting! I think the CSD department has handed off admissions info to the FGSR but they're so behind in processing and updating the portals, etc. I'm getting so impatient!
  6. This was my second year applying, and I did ask the same references! Once I received all my rejections last year, I sent them emails to let them know that I would be reapplying the following year. It was difficult for me to do and I felt bad, but honestly profs are used to it and they were all really kind about it.
  7. Hi everyone! I made a Facebook group for those of us who will be attending U of A https://www.facebook.com/groups/2860249307598788/
  8. Rejected from Western. U of A it is! I'll be accepting my offer when my official letter comes in Congrats to all who have been accepted!
  9. I guess the FGSR is working their way down the acceptance list, mine still says pre-screening!
  10. They stated on their website that the strike wouldn't affect any admissions processes, but based upon what I've seen on this thread from Dal, they likely received a record-high number of applications this year so they may be a little slow on sending everything out.
  11. Mine hasn't changed yet either. Hopefully we'll be able to accept/decline our offers by the end of the week!
  12. I was able to complete it online this year due to covid, but I'm assuming it'll be back to in-person only next year. This year I missed many opportunities in the on-campus CSD clinic, so there are definitely benefits to attending in-person!
  13. I still definitely recommend checking out the Post-Bacc program in CSD at Minot State University! I did that this past year and it got my GPA up and gave me lots of clinical experience which helped me get into U of A this year. And the priority admission into their SLP program is an amazing back-up choice!
  14. For those who have heard from UofA, has anyone's GSMS portal been updated yet? Mine still says pre-screening.
  15. Hi everyone, I checked my email a couple of hours ago and I got the email that I got into U of A!! My online portal hasn't changed at all, it still says pre-screening and everything. This is my second year applying to grad school. I just wanted to let you know also that it's okay to not get in your first try. It's hard after all the work you've put into getting in, and I totally was there last year and I felt like giving up and finding some other profession. But remember to keep trying and building your application, keep finding opportunities to grow and stay motivated, and also just remember that it's going to work out how it's supposed to (as cliche as it is). Just keep going, you're going to make it through! I wish everyone the best of luck, and feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions or wanna chat❤️
  16. I just saw this on the strike FAQ page on the U of A website, so I don't think the strike will impact the admissions timeline.
