  1. Hi folks! Currently in the 2 year msw program at Uoft! If you have questions please let me know! this forum has helped me in the past, and I want to give back! Reach out if you would like to! Best of luck to everyone!
  2. Received offer from laurier in person program, at 11:30 this morning. Last name B. I will be declining the offer as I've accepted another school. Hope this opens up a place for someone else. Good luck everyone!
  3. Hey there! Congrats on receiving a post-grad BSW admission at UBC! While I don't have an info about the UBC program, I will say I also graduated recently (last year) and applied for a msw while in my undergrad. At that time, I was waitlisted with all due reason. From what you have said, I think a bsw post grad option, will still allow you to pursue a msw after and there are so many more schools that offer advanced msw which I believe you will qualify for. So thats something to consider, when it comes to the opportunities and doors it will open. Finances are a huge thing, which I completely relate to you. If that is the most important thing, I would weigh the cost of both options and see which one is more feasible for you.
  4. When do decisions go out? on their site it says mid april.
  5. Hey! I had 1 reference from a prof and 2 from work experiences! A tip i would give is to have your references look at the questions they have to answer before hand. Walk them through the process and let them know what to expect, I find doing this helps them write a strong reference for you. If you have many options to choose from as your references, then I would choose people who you had a strong professional relationship with and know the quality of your work. Let me know if you have other questions. fingers crossed for you
  6. Yes, I did have this problem on my iphone safari. But firefox should work fine. ?
  7. One thing I would also say, is to pour your all into the personal statement and make sure you're references are really good. I do think the writing style is super important as well. that was one tip about uoft i recieved from this site. Feel free to message as well. This was my first time applying.
  8. Unfortunately, i think we might have different packages lol. is this is the 2 year program one?
  9. Thank you for the clarification. Did you ask the dept. or anyone specific? Because in the package it just says submit these forms under the document that reads confirmation form. So a little confused lol
  10. They are unpaid, however, depending on the field placement coordinator, you might have the ability to arrange one that is paid. But that is a big maybe. Also as mentioned by the previous comment, all depends on the school as well.
  11. Decided to check Acorn as well! I have been accepted to UofT's 2 year program!!! Last name starts with B. For all those waiting, wishing you the best!!!!! Positive vibes!!
  12. Its definitely tough for those who are caregivers, full-time workers and are reliable for others. I completely agree with you in that its insane and almost illogical how there's on one full online program in Canada, that not only makes it competitive but also difficult for those that don't have any other options. My heart goes out to you, sending you all the luck and positivity. Wishing you get into your choice.
  13. Also received an acceptance for western's 2 year program!! Wishing everyone best of luck as well!!!! You got this!!!
  14. OMG yes!!! The instructions also say you must write in essay format. which is confusing to another level because the word limit is insanely small to provide much info.
  15. Yes I received that email. Do you know where or when the student numbers were given out. Thats the one thing Im having a hard time finding. ?
