    Hi, I was rejected from UCSB and probably from UT Austin, because someone posted a interview on the results page. How are your applications going?

    Yeah, I noticed. Just waiting for my rejection letter. Honestly I don’t know what I did wrong. I even had a LOR from a professor in the program.

    who's getting interviews at UCSB? It's the second post on the results page. I've never seen UCSB doing interviews for Film Studies before. I'm going crazy.

    It's possible that they only interview borderline candidates. I'm not sure if that's the case, but I've heard some people talking about this.

    I don't think that most of them, but some do. Take a look at the thread from last year. I remember that the University of Washington does interviews.

    Hello everyone, I'm thinking of applying for the PhD in Film Studies at Concordia. However, I have a question: 1) I read that the program is very good, but that contrasts with the university ranking (500-600 in the world). I know that rankings are not that important and that the program might be good regardless of the ranking of the university. However, are there any particular reasons for Concordia's position being low in comparison to other universities in Canada and in the US? How do alumni from Concordia's PhD in Film stand in the job market? Thank you.

    Do you guys think there will be fewer applicants this year? I'm intrigued, because the Film Studies thread from last year had many more replies and people discussing.
