    Based on the results from a couple of years ago, one of the respondents said s/he did an interview and still got rejected. But I might be wrong, so don't give up hope! What's your research interest, if you don't mind me asking?

    @Kim2016, @fossati Please don't give up hope just yet. There's always next year to try again. This year has been weird and tough due to COVID that forced some schools to cancel the admission process. What are both of your research interest, if you don't mind me asking? I'm focusing on postcolonial documentary films and nationalism in East Asia cinema.

    Hi, are you referring to UW's graduate coordinator? By decisions in early March, was s/he referring to "final" decision (like acceptance, waitlist, and/or rejection)? If there is any information that was not mentioned in this thread, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    No, I haven't. I purposfully didn't contact POIs as such act doesn't really help. Have you contacted some of the POIs? If so, what information have they provided to you in regards to the admission process? I'd love to know

    Hi, I'm really glad to see this thread existing. Here are my list of schools applied a month ago: University of Washington (first choice) University of Iowa University of Florida (English, but will be studying Film and Media Studies) University of Toronto I didn't apply to schools like Berkeley, NYU, or Yale, because I know my GPA and GRE scores aren't good enough to be competitive.     I'm so jealous b/c I applied the same program. Congrats, and I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the campus! Do they give you free flight tickets for the visit?

    I am 29, but I think I will give it another shot even if I don't get into all the schools I'd applied. At the same time, if i get accepted, I worry that I'll be the oldest among the colleagues.
