  1. Likewise! Have you conducted the interview with UW? If so, I hope it went well. If it's alright with you, would you share some questions that came out during the interview? I'd greatly appreciate that! Happy March, and best of luck!
  2. Mine's postcolonial documentary films and US imperialism in East Asia. Good luck and I hope you get an offer!
  3. Based on the results from a couple of years ago, one of the respondents said s/he did an interview and still got rejected. But I might be wrong, so don't give up hope! What's your research interest, if you don't mind me asking?
  4. @Kim2016, @fossati Please don't give up hope just yet. There's always next year to try again. This year has been weird and tough due to COVID that forced some schools to cancel the admission process. What are both of your research interest, if you don't mind me asking? I'm focusing on postcolonial documentary films and nationalism in East Asia cinema.
  5. Hi, are you referring to UW's graduate coordinator? By decisions in early March, was s/he referring to "final" decision (like acceptance, waitlist, and/or rejection)? If there is any information that was not mentioned in this thread, I'd greatly appreciate it!
  6. I'm so sorry to hear that. Was the rejection from University of Washington??
  7. No, I haven't. I purposfully didn't contact POIs as such act doesn't really help. Have you contacted some of the POIs? If so, what information have they provided to you in regards to the admission process? I'd love to know
  8. First of all, congratulations on getting accepted to Yale! I have a question: Did the school (administrator or somebody else) mention about in-person campus? Something like one more year of taking remote classes (including the TA ship online). I would like to get some info if you have some
  9. That's great, congrats!! May I ask what kinds of questions were the unviersity asking?
  10. Hi, I'm really glad to see this thread existing. Here are my list of schools applied a month ago: University of Washington (first choice) University of Iowa University of Florida (English, but will be studying Film and Media Studies) University of Toronto I didn't apply to schools like Berkeley, NYU, or Yale, because I know my GPA and GRE scores aren't good enough to be competitive. Also, It seems that a lot of people in this thread have applied to UW. Scared of the competition with some of you (especially this year, which has been fiercely competitiv

  14. I'm so jealous b/c I applied the same program. Congrats, and I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the campus! Do they give you free flight tickets for the visit?
  15. I am 29, but I think I will give it another shot even if I don't get into all the schools I'd applied. At the same time, if i get accepted, I worry that I'll be the oldest among the colleagues.
