    I applied to, and got into, McCourt MPP, Walsh MSFS, and CCT- Culture Communications and Technology. My prime focus was to study tech and communications under policy and all three seemed to offer a good curriculum in that respect. However, now I am at a crossroads with my decision. Being an International student, the STEM stamp on CCT is a huge advantage but I am worried about committing to something so niche early on in my career (I am 22 and have roughly a year's worth of experience in the field). MPP and MSFS allow me to explore the niche while providing the safety net of a generalist degree as well, but they don't have STEM recognition and are way more expensive. MSFS hasn't offered me financial aid (yet as the official notification is yet to come) and the MPP and CCT will cost me roughly the same after aid although I am in the process of negotiation. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi guys. Was hoping to make a discord/ whatsapp group of admitted students to discuss scholarships/ fellowships and if we end up accepting we can discuss the accommodation as well. On that note, any idea about the student living expenses in DC? Preferably near campus (15-20 minute walking distance)

    So I received my decision on Friday and I was waitlisted but I know people who got theirs earlier and were rejected/ accepted etc so don’t worry they are just slowly sending these decisions

    I applied to MIA only, but knowing that someone is stil waiting too is making this whole situation weirder. Maybe they are sending out things slowly? Any chance you got pushed to Round 1 as well?

    Hi so I had applied early action but did not hear back from them at all. They had asked me for some additional material after my application was submitted and it took me approximately 4 working days to get it to them- do you think they pushed me to round 1 instead? I have mailed them but have not heard back ? Really getting anxious about this now

    Not super relevant but due to the timezones, 15th in the US is 16th noon here so I am all the more anxious ?

    Yes fair enough. Its just really enervating because we submitted more than 2 months ago and its silence since then. I guess having international applicants anxious is easier than spending a few bucks to call them ?

    best of luck to everyone who applied! Wanted to know how many of you are applying for the fellowships? I was thinking of going for the Charles Edison and Robert Seamans but I am confused about exactly what should be in the essays- can they be similar to our motivation essays or do they have to be different? Would really love to exchange notes

    Hi guys, by "mid-december" do they mean 15 December on the dot or are they giving a general time? I am sorry for this weird question its just that I have like two more decisions coming at the same time and I am so nervous now that December is starting

    Hi I have also applied EA for SAIS and even took the optional interview. It went super well so I am looking forward to the results. Anyone else who took the interview?

    I think you should vaguely mention this in the SOP and in the PH really go into it and relate it to your unwavering determination and how that will help you in not crumbling under grad school preparation.

    Hi so I have applied to a few programs which required the PH essay but I am not sure if I got those correct (as I don't have results :P). I think your PH should entirely be about yourself and they want you to get personal but also relate it to the program/ school's environment. eg: if you are a first generation student you can maybe talk about the pressure to do well or how you had to struggle for it. I would personally refrain from dramatising it too much because you need to come across as emotionally stable (not sure if this is right but I feel its important given how tough grad programs can get on mental health). I talked about me being a south asian woman and how the struggle of identity and discrimination has refined my thought and appreciation for opportunities. Hope this helps and as I said I don't know if this advice works because I don't have any results yet

    Just that I dont have a necessarily strong quant background but I have good work ex (2 years worth of internships) since I graduated in June this year and have worked after that as well. As for results, I think the site mentions "mid december" so I guess the second-third week of December should be our window. what about you?
