I totally understand what you mean. The uncertainty is really hard on me too. I live in the Toronto area so the fact that I might have to pick up everything and move to London come September but not knowing 100% is killing me too.- 1,373 replies

Congratulations to everyone! I got waitlisted at Western, do you think if I emailed Janet she would let me know my place on the waiting list? I got an automatic email from them and in it, it said that they don't release information about your position on the waiting list. Just wanted to double check!- 1,373 replies

Thank you for the clarity! I think I'm in a place where I'm so close to graduating that I'm losing motivation so that gives me an extra push to power through my final assignments and exams- 1,373 replies

Congratulations to everyone receiving offers! I have a question! This is my first year applying. Let's say I don't get into any of the schools I applied to this year and I choose to apply next year, would they calculate my sGPA using the courses from my fourth year winter term counting backwards even though those courses weren't incorporated into the calculation when I applied this time around (since applications were due before then)? I hope that makes sense!- 1,373 replies

Thank you both for the insight! That's definitely reassuring. If a strike does unfold, I'll make sure to directly contact the schools if I have to. It is helpful to know though that in the past you were given options to have your courses completed on time. Hopefully that will be the case if if happens this year. With the transition to online learning two years ago and now this, I'm just ready to graduate lol- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone! Is anyone else else in the same boat - I'm a current fourth year at York and applied to SLP programs at University of Toronto and Western but I'm concerned about the talk surrounding a strike at York. They announced the tentative day for a strike to be March 23 but negotiations are still going on. I feel really good about my applications and will be devastated if this strike affects my chance at admissions due to marks not being allowed to be submitted or courses being put on hold so close to when I was supposed to graduate. Does anyone have any insight on what would happen in this case with my applications? It's my first time ever going through something like this and it's been stressing me out a lot. For now I'm trying to carry on with my school work and hope for the best. Thanks guys- 1,373 replies

To those who applied to U of T, have you guys looked into scholarships? I'm looking into the OGS but it gets complicated applying as an undergraduate student. There's questions about research contributions which is not applicable to me and relevant activities/experiences (would volunteer work be applicable in this discussion?) I'm just overwhelmed by these scholarships. Wondering if anyone can help give me some clarity or if they have experience applying for OGS in the past?- 1,373 replies

Thank you so much! I'm actually not entirely sure about if you can send it via email. I would say to contact them but only after December 31st because they're closed until then! Is anyone having difficulty copy and pasting their statement into the allotted text box? I did mine on google doc to keep track of the character count. I'm below the 3,000 (including spaces), but when I paste it, it says I'm over. When I remove spaces between the paragraphs with no formatting, I meet the character requirement, I just wonder if that's acceptable since it's essentially going to be one large paragraph rather than several.- 1,373 replies

Hi! Sorry if this is a silly question, but do we need to submit multiple transcript requests if we're applying to different schools? I'm applying to both Western and U of T but atm I only have one transcript request, and it says it's being sent to ORPAS. I feel like that's fine but would like to double check in case. Also, can anyone confirm that ORPAS just needs the transcript request by the deadline and they don't actually need to receive the transcript by that date? I found in their FAQ, "Yes, if we receive an online transcript request (that forms part of the application) by the stated deadline, it satisfies the transcript deadline requirement." But then on another page I see, "You must ensure that ORPAS receives your application and all required supporting documentation by the deadlines" Thanks in advance!- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone! Does anyone have any idea how the personal reference should be structured if we're applying to multiple schools? My personal reference should mention what school I'm applying to in the letter but it only allows us to do 3 referees (2 academic, 1 personal) so we can't really get 2 personal letters catered to different schools if that makes sense. Any ideas?- 1,373 replies

Hi everyone!! This is my first year applying, and I'll be applying to both U of T and Western university. I want to wish everyone good luck!! I alsoI wanted to ask if it's still acceptable to talk about volunteer experience in our SOI? I'm trying to do it more generally and discuss what I've taken away from these experiences and I've related it to personal attributes. I just feel like there's some overlap with the questions, but I definitely didn't go into too much detail because I know they said they aren't going to consider it. Side note: writing this letter is such a battle. I think I've read it so many times and have been so critical that it kind of sounds blah to me. I'll definitely be getting outside perspectives but if anyone else is struggling, you're not alone!!
