  1. Hi everybody! I was hoping if any Dalhousie students have an insight into the equitable admission policy that SLP has set up....does it mean there are a certain number of seats reserved, and what do they mean by 'individually considered'? I'm Iranian and Chinese...which from what I can tell falls into a racialized minority group, but they specify indigenous and African Nova Scotians...which I'm not, so I can't tell if I am eligible to apply under this stream... I know the OT policy specifically states that Chinese individuals are part of the racialized minority group, but not SLP Thank you!
  2. Thank you! I found the advice very helpful, not harsh at all!! I will def take that into consideration
  3. Hi Everyone! I just am hoping to get some advice! Basically, I was planning to apply to UofA as I've heard really good things about their program, and alot of the SLPs I've talked to have gotten in and recently graduated from there, the only thing is, is they require an extra stats course. I hate stats, and I really don't want to take another stats course. I can still apply to UofT, western, McMaster and Dal, but I feel like the only place that seemed reachable to get accepted into was UofA. Any advice or thoughts? Thank you!!!
  4. Does anyone know if UofT, McGill, UofA, Western or McMaster count pre requisites towards their GPA calculations. I have had a look on all their websites, and I don't think they do, but I have a friend applying to the same schools and she is saying they do. It's stressing me out ?
  5. Hello! I am currently completing my BSc in Kinesiology at UVIC, and I'm wanting to complete my masters at Dalhousie. Is there anyone out there who is currently studying or has studied at Dal and has advice on getting into the program (GPA needed, experience, honours program etc). I've heard its very competitive, and I want to know what I need to do to secure myself a spot. I have had a poke around on their site, and they did say that you needed a GPA around a 3.7/4.3 to be a competitive applicant.... would people say that if I got between a 4-4.3 would I be okay? I currently work as a lifeguard and swim instructor and goal is to volunteer at a speech clinic before applying. I've been asking around to find some extra info on good experience or courses to take, and I'm not finding any of my profs or admissions councilors very helpful If anyone has any experience or extra knowledge they would be able to share, that would be amazing!
