  1. Nothing yet. I’m not expecting anything for at least another month and nobody else seems to have applied from the forums. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Hey dude. Thanks for the nice comments. I’ve been running around and forgot to share. BTW, I’m a man ? i just used that drawing as a profile pic because it’s a portrait I’m working on and I like how it’s looking. Here’s a pic of the mural I did in Davis. Cheers ✌?
  3. Thanks! I’ll try uploading some on Friday. I appreciate the gif
  4. It’s really cool that you know Maceo. He put me in touch with the people for the mural in Woodland. Nice guy. Never met his dad but I heard good things about him within the community. I saw that you wrote an explanation of how to upload images, thanks! I’ll check it out. I’ll try uploading something in the next few days. I’ve been working a lot so I’m exhausted right now and the idea of dealing with inefficient technology is kind of off-putting. The Chicano community has always had a rich culture and Maceo was doing some good work in Woodland Community College, I don’t know if he’s still there. Hope your applications are going well ✌?
  5. Thanks @The-Fourth-Dimension! I’ve been so focused on figure that I left the abstract aside. I always really enjoyed it and wanted to go back to it which is why I’m going into an MFA. I read you’re living in Sac. I moved to Woodland when I left Mexico back in 2012. You might be interested in talking to Maceo Montoya. He’s a Chicano artist doing murals in the area. He might be able to give you insight into programs concerning Chicano art. Good luck with all your applications! I have a mural in Davis if you’re ever around there. It’s at Motown Barbershop and another one in Woodland at Four-Wheel Campers. I miss living in Cali but things are getting dicy there!
  6. Hey, that’s phenomenal @Antisocialprintmaker!! Let me know if you get in and I’d be happy to put you in touch with people working there who can help you get settled in. I still have some friends living there as well. It really is a great community!
  7. Hi @Antisocialprintmaker, I got my BFA at LCAD. I can recommend their MFA, stellar work from everyone there and a really supportive community. I would’ve done my MFA there years ago but I’m a father and can’t justify the expenses from living in Cali. Now I’m looking to change my work but if you’re interested in figure and narrative, it’s definitely the place to go. Also New York Academy is excellent. Sorry about the late heads up. I just joined today.
  8. Hi @Michelle Santa Cruz, Thanks for creating this. I just read your whole explanation. It’s weird that they do that but anywhere we can get information from is useful! I studied mural painting and classical techniques in Mexico (UNAM) many years ago. I studied in California (LCAD) for classical realism and graduated 5 1/2 years ago. I’ve been working ever since and now want to go into something a little bit funkier where I can experiment and play more with paint and abstraction. I’m applying to Concordia MFA Fall 2022 in Painting. Here are some of my pieces. I can’t upload the others because they’re more than 500kb. How about you? What is your story about the arts? It’s always nice to hear others’ stories!
  9. Hi @English Breakfast, I come from a program in California at Laguna College of Art & Design. If you’re looking for a more figurative approach with professors who are phenomenal painters, you might want to look at their MFA. I highly recommend it for realism, if you’re interested in abstraction, then it’s not the school to go to. Good luck!
  10. If anyone knows something about the acceptance criteria for the Concordia MFA in painting it would be much appreciated. I come from a highly classical background in art and the classical and contemporary communities tend to be incredibly divided so I feel like I’m out of the loop and am looking to grow in a different direction as an artist. Any information would be nice to hear. Thanks! ✌?

  12. I applied to Concordia University (Montreal) for the Drawing and Painting MFA. Anybody else? Apparently, results are given beginning of March
