    I'm just curious, but how do you know this about Princeton? Is this just speculative and based off of last year's results?

    I’m really curious what others think… would you choose a lower-ranked school if it was located in a city better than a higher-ranked school? I’m stuck between WashU in St. Louis and Fordham. I visited both schools, met with faculty and current students, etc. The former was a great fit, but I can’t fathom living in St. Louis for 5 or so years. (For context, I’ve been in the Midwest for almost 6 years for my BA and MA, and I’m itching to leave.) My research is pretty archive-heavy, too, which makes NY all the more appealing. It pained me a bit yesterday to turn down my offer at UT, but the stipend was horrible.

    Same! I emailed them and they said, “The English Department aims to release decisions before the end of March, and we will do our very best to inform you by that time. Thank you for reaching out, and for your patience!”

    Thank you:) and I’m in lit. Currently deciding between WashU and Fordham, but am still considering UTA a bit since it’s hard to strongly pass on that offer even though the stipend isn’t that good.

    Interesting, so you’re on the waitlist for your era/period of specialization then? Are you hoping for CUNY, too, or do you have somewhere else in mind?

    Lol they should’ve bcc’d that email, but yes they told me my spot on the DH waitlist. They also said they’ll consider me on the modernist waitlist, too, though I don’t know my position on that one. How about you?

    Waitlisted at CUNY and Northwestern. Almost certain that I will turn down my offers from UT-Austin, Pitt, Buffalo, U of Washington, and U of Iowa. Fingers crossed for CUNY!

    My first post! Just trying to appeal to anyone who has been admitted to CUNY, specifically working w/ DH or modernism, in the event you’re turning down the offer and to please let the DGS know. I’m on the waitlist and CUNY is my top pick right now. Won’t accept other offers till they get back to me. The prospect of waiting till April 15 sounds unbearable lol
