Hi guys! I just received the email from SSHRC. I won the doctoral fellowship!!! Thank you all for your great support and all the updated information! Best luck! 

My research is looking at storytelling methods with autistic women and trans and/or non-binary folks to improve relevant health and mental health services - the ‘preferred selection committee’ says 7524? 

Still waiting also.

I am so glad I found this forum and to know others are also waiting in frustration - I don’t know which committee I am in, but I agree that they are past their deadline and the 6 month wait is already brutal enough. I thought for sure everyone would have heard back by Friday last week. They could have at least provided an update via social media to say they’re still working on it. Our deadlines as applicants are not flexible so the least they could have done is an apology and brief update to say when results may be available. Thanks for venting along with me lol. 

What frustrates me the most is that there hasn't been any apology or even understanding on their part of the toll that this would take on the small group that's still waiting to hear. Their automatic email reply says "we invite them to be patient"; there is nothing anywhere about how the results have been missing for a week and the delay has now taken us past the latest possible date that they promised (end of April). No kind of recognition that this was an error on their end that students are now forced to deal with. Even a simple "We apologize for the delay" would have helped. 

Thanks for sharing - every piece of information is better than nothing in my books! It is so unfair that some people have received results while others have not. It also feels as though they are in no rush to inform those impacted by the technical difficulties

Its crazy to me that SSHRC does this every year and their system is still running like it's the 90s.

I'm at UBC and the graduate faculty has the results - My department sent me Congratulations this morning. Check in with your department if you haven't already!

After my third email to my institution they let me know my results! I encourage those still waiting to ask them for support on this. My grad studies department is apparently sending out further instructions to applicants this afternoon, as there are plenty of us who still haven’t received anything official from SSHRC. 

Just got an email from my department that my SSHRC application was successful! Not sure if I got the CGS-D or Fellowship, or my ranking, but I'm just glad that I can rest easy while prepping for comps in the Fall 🥳 Best of luck to everyone still waiting - The future is bright!

Just got an email from my grad office this morning saying I received CGS-D! Results are unofficial until I get my link from SSHRC and receive my official letter! Had me crying my on way to work this morning🥺! I also believe I’m committee 4; educational research!
I will admit though; until I see the SSHRC official document I won’t believe it! Hang in there everyone!

So after about 7 hours of refreshing every browser I have, getting close then the page crashing multiple times (and achieving a variety of error codes in the process), I found out that I was successful. Kind of shocked but I was ranked 16/123 in committee 752-4B. Hope everyone gets their results soon! I need a nap. 

For those still waiting like myself, the SSHRC email auto-reply now reads: 
"Due to technical issues, results for the 2023 Doctoral Awards competition have not yet been shared with all applicants as initially anticipated. SSHRC continues to gradually release results directly to applicants via the SSHRC Extranet for Applicant and candidates might still be waiting for their results.
The result notifications should be sent to all applicants over the next few days."

Ahhhh congrats on that though! I'm in a similar boat. I'm trying to do a full day of clinical work and spending five minutes between patients obsessively checking this forum. 

Me: tries to be a cool, composed graduate student who is capable of being a responsible TA and careful researcher
Also me: frantically refreshing the grad cafe website as if this will somehow deliver my SSHRC results sooner
 

Yea I agree with you on that one, especially given the increasing trend of interdisciplinary theses. Although I did a search of previous years SSHRC fellowships and I saw a handful given to AI-based projects. So I do think it also has to do with the luck that the one specific community will have the right magic combination of members.

Finally got in to a page with 4 separate PDF documents--maybe this is the regular page? Anyways, unfortunately didn't get it. First time applying, directly from abroad. Luckily I still am funded by my French contract so not in *total* financial ruin, but definitely a blow to self-esteem. I know my application wasn't perfect, but I felt a little stifled by the selection committees. I'm from a Philosophy background, but working on AI ethics. I chose committee 7522 as it's the only one with philosophy and thus related to moral theory, but was also filled with experts from dead languages, classics, history...

Total score: 8.23, 88 with 62 offered among 128 applications. Score of last funded is 9.12. So, not on the waitlist clearly (unless many of you decline! haha)
Thanks everyone for the support through this channel. Excellent work and congratulations to everyone who succeeded. They're simply ins't enough funding in Canada (by the way, support the strikes for increased research funding as 20K is hardly enough for anyone to survive). Despite rejection, our research is worth it--at least, that's what I'm telling myself  ha

My results just came in at 11:00pm (CST). I am a second year student (sociology); I applied in 2021 and did not receive.
I was awarded CGS-D (not a fellowship). For frame of reference for other applicants (attached).  Wishing everyone else luck, and keep applying even if you don't receive first time around ❤️

Got my email! I was in committee 2 (history) if that helps anyone. Got one of the fellowships and just feeling relieved that I'll finally be able to sleep tonight. Good luck everyone! I hope there's some good news ahead!
