@saramsarang I'm always down to talk as well. I understand the impact this process can have on someone's mental health. Regardless of whether both of us are applying next year or not I would love to keep in contact with you guys and workshop writing!

I've been checking constantly but the way I'm justifying it is that I'm spending less time scrolling social media since I'm on here instead. Shhhhh, let me cope...

It seems that, in the past, they have had a "silent waitlist" where you don't find out you're WL, you just get an acceptance call in April once someone lets go of their spot. Then, in Draft, you find people discussing getting explicitly waitlisted – seemingly by email or snail mail, never call.

Mine also says "in review." I've been refreshing it like a banshee. I checked their site and it does say quite plainly, "admitted/waitlisted applicants contacted by email/phone, otherwise portal." There's only 3 portal rejections in the spreadsheet from today. One fiction, two poetry.

Oh wow. I wonder why Michener portals are updating one by one like this? A few more just popped up in the spreadsheet for poetry. @Scribewow. your portal really just updated to say that? Why wouldn't they email people?

MFA Draft '24 is a FB group for mfa applicants! If you join there's a spreadsheet where people share answers (through a google form).

A very understandable decision! It definitely seems like a great program but the funding is a little sparse compared to some other schools. I hope you get an offer that matches with your needs!

There are two fiction acceptances in the spreadsheet, and those people have confirmed it in Draft. there's one reported poetry acceptance based on someone in this forum who knows someone at the Uni. also, someone in Draft got a poetry waitlist and said they thought everything was out. based on all of this, I'm thinking it's just rejections to come

I wouldn't have made it through the last few weeks without gradcafé and you guys! I'm hopeful for our results but I, too, want to reapply if I don't make it this year, and I'd be happy to do it all over again but this time knowing I have a community on my side! I also wrote a whole poem for the first time since submitting my apps yesterday (kind of embarrassing, tbh, but it's part of being a writer sometimes) and I'm so glad you guys are writing too and not letting rejection discourage you. I'm really impressed and thankful at how kind and positive this forum has been!

Nope, no Michener rejections yet, we just know that poetry and fiction a/w are both out based on Draft. I believe Vandy hasn't sent rejections either. I wonder why they do it this way, rather than all at once. @triciadawnOmg, this is great! I know you were feeling discouraged after Umich, but look at you now!! hoping it works out finance-wise.

This is super rough... sending solidarity to everyone who got rejections! Tbh I wish I could just get my Syracuse, Michener, and Michigan rejections right now to help me move forward. Not having that closure yet but still having to mourn is hard
