  1. I'd love to see your work, we got a lot of the same accepts and I'm always curious about the people I'm going to be going to school with (probably, deciding between a few at the moment, including RISD Sculpture) Also if your goal is to work in an agency I'd think CalArts would almost be a no brainer, you'll have access to a lot more opportunities and connections DM me if you like!
  2. I regret not applying to Tulane, from what I hear it's a great place to do an MFA. I am also considering RISD, but I only got 40k + 5k so I can't afford it unless they counter-offer, but I can tell you that once you're AT Tulane you will probably have a lot more leverage when it comes to accessing facilities, and the ability to network with techs. I also wouldn't just think of teaching as a full time career, but as a way to pay for being an artist, which I think is the key thing here.
  3. I suppose in the sense that they invite curators, artists, etc. into the university. I think we have roughly the same impression. I'm interested in a hands-off program which is why I was so glad Rutgers took me, because it is very DIY, and does have excellent facilities, but is next to NYC. Lots to think about.
  4. Did they talk about how engaged Alfred is with art as a whole? It's hard to tell, and I didnt' really get a great answer during my interview.
  5. I was really torn on the rural-ness. On one hand, I don't like being around other people. On the other hand, I love being around other people.
  6. Oh nice! Where'd you end up accepting?? Were you ceramics or glass? I'm general sculpture so only two spots for us!
  7. Congrats to the VCU admits, they emailed to say the waitlist was closed, crushing my fragile dreams of going to VCU I'm holding off accepting my offers until UT Austin, Alfred, and Northwestern close their waitlists so if you're planning on not attending those, save me some time and tell them today, I'll DoorDash you a bubble tea or something for your trouble lol
  8. Thank you for freeing up a UT Austin Space and congratulations on CCA!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I’m leaning Rutgers right now, did you interview in person? I was at the table with the guy who had a hedgehog
  10. I have some friends who had a pretty good experience with adjunct professorships. Don't limit yourself to the main cities fi you're worried. Better yet, don't limit yourself to north America.
  11. Everybody holding up okay? This is always the least fun part of the process, I had an unsuccessful round last year so I know all too well. If this shit is hitting you hard just DM me and rant, I've been through it and don't mind hearing about it.
  12. Assume nothing! I got into my BFA program from a waitlist long after I expected a call. Rutgers called me by phone for the acceptance, but you never know. The programs move around a lot and people accept/reject right up until April 15. Thanks! I'm happy, they seemed like great people and the facilities were shockingly excellent. Still waiting for my waitlists to shake out before I accept though, I'm on a couple waitlists for better funded programs.
  13. Rutgers sent me an acceptance on the Monday after interview weekend, so March 11th. I was in the Fine Arts program interviews, not sure about Design. UT Austin waitlisted me Feb 17th and AFAIK their waitlist is still open, I talked to them a week ago.
  14. Hello fellow potential future SAIC Sculpture classmates, had a nice call with Rebecca, I like that they phone you up with the good news, RISD did the same and both times I missed the call and had to call them back somehow I have an offer from RISD too so waiting to see what SAIC offers for funding, but definitely both DM me, would love to see your work(s). Congrats to everyone!
