I had just replied back to the program officer who followed up with my award acceptance email, but I would guess that address would be the best place to contact!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to send a quick note that I had asked for my ranking/scores after confirming enrolment dates and after about week they sent me a file with the details. Basically you get your mark /6 for the two categories, and then your rank out of however many candidates in your committee.

The start dates offer says anywhere between May 1 2024-January 1 2025 so even in the worst case scenario, I can't imagine they'd make you push right to September 1. My guess is that if you say May 1, you'll just get back pay from that point. I submitted mine for a May 1 start date, but my awards office said because of the time to process first pay would likely be around start of June, but that I would be back-paid to that May 1 date. First time going through this, so can't say for certain, but I don't see it being an issue and they'll just back pay to May 1. Its the same amount of money for them, it just might be that you are without for a few weeks (which obviously isnt ideal either).

I got a response after just over an hour. But I also have a May 1st start date, and since they need to open up your secure drop folder for submitting the financial work, I would also assume they are probably prioritizing based on those May start dates.

I replied to this earlier with a link to my application, but its been held in review, maybe it will come through maybe it won't 😅 but summary: I am in my 2nd year of my PhD, I had applied a couple years ago before officially starting it and didn't make it past internal rounds. At the point of submitting this application, I didn't have any "official" publications, but had one in review. But I definitely have a lot of experience in the "other" categories. As hard as I find it to write about myself, I put a lot of work into my statements to really boast those as much as possible. I was genuinely shocked when I got the email, based on my lack of publications I felt it was really 50/50 as to whether I'd get one. So there is definitely hope if your CV isn't publication heavy!!! apologies if this becomes a duplicate if/when the other gets approved.

Thank you! And yeah that makes sense. Seems like it's all in their weird limbo right now until its all ratified. My Dean of Graduate Studies wants to meet do discuss financial stuff so hoping he might have some more clarity on it, but I think most people are unsure how it is proceeding in the coming months.

Hi everyone. I received an email from my University's Awards office this morning congratulating me on receiving an NSERC Doctoral award! I haven't received anything from NSERCs end but looks like at least administrative results are being sent out in some cases. It also doesn't specify between CGSD/PGSD, but might also be a result of the new set-up with budget 2024. Good luck everybody!!

Been trying real hard to not think about it but I fear the next week will just be me consistently on edge waiting for an email to come through. So might as well chime in on the thread!
