  1. Hey! I'd suggest either taking the GREs over or apply to schools that don't require it. If you don't mind my asking, which school in DC are you looking to apply to? Other than that your application sounds great! GOOD LUCK!
  2. I'm moving from out of town and my apartment is about 7 miles from the campus. The closer to the campus, the more expensive it seems... However I'll take a train in each day as the station is across the street from my campus.
  3. my SO is being a jerk and I'm pretty sure we'll break up before we leave. We're going on almost 5 years and me moving only 5 hours away is making him leave. Oh well, I'll have a new city at my fingertips and school work to make me forget... Plus I'm probably better off, right?
  4. Well I decided to buy a brand new car after I graduated from my undergrad because I was rejected by most of my grad schools and didn't have hope for the last one. However, I was accepted and I'm definitely going. I'm going to school in a city that has a subway though so I'll be fine (I think). I asked my professors at my current school if it was required by them when they were in their grad program (clinicals and externships) and they said not until their 2nd year. I'm going to keep paying my auto loan and see if I do need my car later but I think because I'm in a metro area I'll be okay.
  5. I'll be honest -- I thought I was pretty competitive.. I have the saaaame stats & I was rejected to every school that I applied to. 5 schools in NY 1 in GA and one in SD. I'm super depressed but I'm looking to do some volunteer work (but no one wants to take me on..) and I'm going to retake GREs & rewrite my SOP. I had volunteer experience teaching kids/adult classes and research experience. I'm still going to apply next year, no harm in trying.. but I'm going to check out other programs too.
  6. Do you mind my asking which programs you applied to?
  7. i'm sad, valdosta rejected me Oh well. try again next year i suppose.
  8. I've been rejected by 5 schools, waiting on 3 still. No good news yet, and i thought I was competitive for where I had applied
  9. no still nothing! i had a dream last night that someone updated on grad cafe and said they were accepted-- ugh! i'm feeling like a loser. I'm really hoping I get into this school, as it's my top choice... gah! what about you still waiting on others?
  10. I can log in but can't see a schedule. It says i haven't been admitted yet.
  11. do you mind me asking your stats as well? I heard this school was a little easier to get into, but who knows this yr!
  12. Gahh I want to know now. I'm only waiting on them and 2 more schools at this time. 1010 on the GRE & 3.5 in the major, 3.3 overall.
  13. I applied to Valdosta in Ga. Their deadline was 3/1....
  14. It depends on the year. It must be impossible to get into a program (at least for me). I didn't do poorly in any of my core classes and I've been a part of research projects, taught kids, worked for a while, and babysit kids with DD.. Doesn't seem to help.
  15. I didn't make the interview round (so basically rejected) from Plattsburgh and Syracuse Official reject from Nazareth and St Rose...
  16. 4 rejects in one day. I'm seriously shot. I have experience.. a 3.5 in the major and overall, and over 1000 on gre. omg. waiting on three more. also coming up with a backup plan
  17. OMG, I wish I could find out right now but I'm still nervous that the next 15 days are going to be stressful!
  18. One school called for interviews... I'm not in their first round, but not rejected. Another school started calling people Friday, but according to the results forum they do it over the next few weeks. GULLLP
  19. Totally agreed. I'm so nervous that I'm planning out my plan b. Sigh... March will come soon enough, though!
  20. Did anyone here apply to SUNY Plattsburgh? If so, Have you heard anything...?
  21. Did they call or email you? When is the interview for? Good luck!!
